ABC World News with.... ??

Yes, I know -- ABC denied the NYDN report that Diane Sawyer is talking about retiring.
But let's suppose the network is bluffing. Who would you put in the ABC anchor chair? Who should be the top contender? Especially with several lead reporters leaving the network these days?

They have no bench. It's Steffie 24/7, or Muir. Don't think Couric would want it. Their news division has become a joke, tonight's lead was a story on home prices, a topic that doesn't even break the NY Times home page. Hostess announced that they had a bidder for Twinkies... surprised they didn't lead with that.

I'll go with Muir...
He is their go to guy anymore...has the looks and brains to do the job...

Amy Robach -- haven't you noticed
If you haven't noticed Amy Robach gets more air time then anyone. They are clearly pushing her up that ladder.
Im almost sick of seeing her as much as I am. And
you're right, their news department has become a joke.
Especially 20/20...too many ex tabloid people behind the scenes making some really stupid choices!

ABC World News with Diane Sawyer looks like it wants to really become "GMA---The Evening Edition".
Diane looks as if she is desperately trying to have fun with the show....half the time they lead with the wrong story.
The graphics, lighting and set are bright and in hyper-color, the format strains to be light, airy and breezy.
They spend way too much time on 'trending stories' like what they really found interesting on facebook and u-tube.
We've already seen all these on local news already.
If you want any real news you must switch over to CBS and Scott Pelley...over at NBC Brian's over-written 35-second lede-ins on every single story are getting tedious.

ABC News Anchor
Jeff Glor from CBS would be young and give a fresh face to ABC which has been needing a facelift.
Like Jake Tapper who left ABC News for CNN for getting past over for anchor jobs, i feel Jeff has been overlooked at CBS. Chris Wragge would be another anchor who would be a great replacement.

so Jeff Glor, unknown to 99% of America, has now gotten plugs in 2 different threads here.
nice to have Glor and/or his agent on the board.

Didn't he have his national news audition doing mornings at CBS? And it didn't last very long?

Stephanoupoulis is a big name (literally)...
But he has shown himself to be a real lightweight when it comes to news and interviewing. Pardons if I spelled his name wrong. He is all looks with not much under that pile of hair...

Is spread too thin. GMA *plus* This Week? Something has to give, eventually. Too bad Jake Tapper was passed over for This Week when Amanpour crashed and burned.
