"The relentless, weather-gone-crazy type of heat that has blistered the United States and other parts of the world in recent years is so rare that it can't be anything but man-made global warming, says a new statistical analysis from a top government scientist." The research by a man often called the "godfather of global warming" says that the likelihood of such temperatures occurring from the 1950s through the 1980s was rarer than 1 in 300. Now, the odds are closer to 1 in 10, according to the study by NASA scientist James Hansen. He says that statistically what's happening is not random or normal, but pure and simple climate change."This is not some scientific theory. We are now experiencing scientific fact," Hansen told The Associated Press in an interview." --------- Now, that will piss off some people. Wonder who? (3...2...1...) |

The REAL godfather of "global warming" is James Lovelock, a 92-year-old British PhD who did extensive work for NASA beginning in the early 1960s. He recently agitated global warming devotees by admitting that he had been excessively alarmist about global temperatures. Those with little to no scientific backgrounds just can't get their heads around the FACT that the global temperature is NOT a linear trend. It has peaks and valleys...some of them extreme. One only has to look back at credible reconstructions of the global temperature records over time to confirm that. |

Saw that one coming a mile away. |

"Alarmist" but not wrong... read the statement again. The early research suggested it was happening much faster and the science at the time suggested there was next to nothing humans could do about it. Meanwhile, the leading skeptic of global warming -- who's research was funded by the Koch Brothers -- now admits that not only is global warming happening -- but he blames human activity for it. http://www.presstelegram.com/opinions/ci_21236688/richard-muller-conversion-climate-change-skeptic |

Everyone please note that our resident propagandist doesn't name the people he cites because he knows perfunctory research will discredit his...uhh...propaganda. He refers to the...THE..."leading skeptic of global warming." Who would that be, exactly? There are hundreds...almost all credentialed atmospheric and climate scientists. And the list is growing. |

Cruzo... I DID mention him. Read the link. Or did they not teach you to read things at Oakland University or the Examiner.com boot camp? The fact that you don't think I identified him is proof that you failed to read. Wake up little man and start doing some homework. |

Of course, cruzo... as our Trolling Dervish, you were obviously trying to take attention away from your taking Lovelock out of context. |

Does it lead to warming or cooling? Noted Stanford Scientist stated in 1975 that man made CO2 was causing global cooling. That same scientist now says the same data is leading to global warming. Can you libs and global group thinkers tell us which one it is? Great Britain is experience RECORD COLD. Is global warming causing the record cold in G.B.? |

"I DID mention him" No, you emphatically did NOT. Perhaps he was mentioned in the link but YOU did not. You lied...again. |

And I did not take Lovelock out of context I simply reiterated what I posted before...which was complete with a link DIRECTLY QUOTING Lovelock. I couldn't possibly have taken him out of context. You lied...again. Your credibility = ZERO |

Cruzo... the LINK was my mention of him. Get a clue and come into the 21st century. I presented a lead in...then, to find the name, you had to go to the link. But why would YOU even have to have Richard Muller's name in the lead-in? If you are the whiz kid in science you claim to be, you would be instantly aware of whom I was speaking. But then, your idea of science seems to be limited to astrology and alchemy. |

Secondcoming... your post shows how you cannot be taken seriously on any scientific topic. You cite pop-culture conjecture from 40 years ago as "science." The idea that the world was cooling never gained traction with the scientific community. There is wide consensus on global warming. And, while there have been mountains of evidence linking carbon dioxide in the atmospere to global warming -- there is NO evidence that it leads to cooling. Go join cruzo in reading your horoscopes at the next meeting of the Flat Earth Society. That seems to be the extent of "science" you can embrace. |

"the LINK was my mention of him" No, that's another lie. The LINK was your mention of...the LINK. |

Cruzo, you need to take basic English... and a writing class or two. I wrote a lead -- introducing the article (via the link) that contained Muller's name. You would think a "non-fiction writer" like you would know a thing or two about writing. Guess not. Or -- more correctly -- guess YOU'RE not. |

ES, it's very clear who you were talking about by the link -- the URL has the name in it. No worries. |

Grateful for that, Grateful... Surely by now our "casual readers" are convinced that cruzo is clueless. And, cruzo, scrawling "Will work for food" on a piece of cardboard box does not qualify as making your living as a writer. |
