I am absolutely disgusted by the attitudes of a pair of our right wing posters. Both cruzo and secondcoming have shown their own disgust for our uniformed and civilian forces who have sacrificed so much for so long over the last 12 years. Men and women who have lost three or four limbs, suffered six or seven concussions, have had third degree burns over more than half their bodies are not -- hear me, NOT -- "gaming the system" when they expect to receive medical care for the rest of their lives for the wounds they suffered in the service of out country. Men who fought and died in the streets of Benghazi, who flew into the city in the midst of a battle, improvised -- as special forces do -- their way to the fight and were wounded or died in the defense of fellow Americans and their Libyan allies were not -- hear me, NOT -- "covering their asses" when they fought off attacks. Cruzo and secondcoming are people who praise Mitt Romney -- a man who refused to mention American veterans in his convention acceptance speech AND in the foreign policy debate. In an era where the GOP has adopted Ayn Rand as a "How To" author -- perhaps they see those who choose service to country as parasites or takers. Perhaps right wing fringe types like cruzo and secondcoming see them as "suckers" who opted to lay down their lives while "job creators" got rightfully rich. But they don't see how our country would be rich without the sacrifice of those who serve. I choose to see the people I've worked alongside for more than a decade as people who believe in America -- people who believe in something greater than themselves -- and something that will live long after thier sacrifices are finished. Or their ultimate sacrifice is given on "the altar of freedom." |

In fact I HAVE worn the uniform while etwink has had to rely on his vivid imagination because his only "service" has been lip service. |

A girls scout halloween get up ... ... isn't "serving in uniform," cruiser. BTW: why do you call your self cruiser? |

Well..... I haven't served. You are correct. But your statement is baloney. Obama cover's up the death of 4 people, for whatever reason. Romney fails to mention the military in a speech. And you think Romney, cruiser and I are disgusting? |

What coverup? You seem to be missing the hundreds of news reports in the last couple of days that showed a quick response team arrived in 24 minutes. And that two of the people killed were part of the defensive response AFTER that team arrived. As for cruzo, I'm sure you look sharp in your McDonald's uniform -- but your lack of respect for combat troops -- people you accused of "gaming the system" and people Romney claimed had a victim mentality and were dependent on the government -- is outright disrespect. If you'd ever served in the uniform of your country you'd understand that. |

It's PRECISELY BECAUSE I'm a veteran that I can righteously post my comments. I KNOW what goes on in the military. I've been there. You obviously haven't...and that lack of knowledge is apparent to everyone who's ever served. |

Not buying it cruise; ANYONE who has the cajones to write; quote: "that the younger veterans...those returning from Iraq and Afghanistan...are leaning more toward Obama. THE REASON IS THAT FULLY ONE HALF OF THEM ARE SEEKING DISABILITY. Of course, they are more likely to receive it under Obama's entitlement society. This is in no way meant to disparage those who truly are disabled. But the inflated numbers suggest many are trying to game the system.” NO WAY that person is a vet. But I can't prove it. So the whole debate is a wstee of time. |

No, you very likely can't prove it But if you could you'd be mortally embarrassed. Trust me on this one. |

It's a Cover Up For two weeks it was the movie, that caused it, according to Obama. He went to the UN and sighted the movie as causing the "riot". He then arrested the guy who made the internet movie that was posted in July. THAT GUY is still in jail. For What? What crime did he commit? Where is the media wondering why this guy is in jail, for posting a movie? In America no less! He won't be release until AFTER the election. Sounds like something Castro or Stalin would do to "dissidents". Now, we get situation room photos of Obama during hurricane sandy. Where are the situation room videos of the attack, that just happend to occur on September 11, TWO months AFTER the video was posted? It's a blatent cover up by Obama and the media, in regards to how the administration handled that attack. Obama and the media are disgusting. |

secondcruise; You couldn't get your facts straight if they were tattooed on the back of your hand. "It's a Cover Up". No, it's not. The Admin has admitted they were WRONG --the Benghazi attack had nothing to do with the film, but that's what they were told by protesters in the street....NOW we know better..and the record has been corrected. This was a terrorist attack, and the Admin has said so. Repeatedly. And we also have a full-fledged investigation into what happened. Far different than imaginary WMD's IMO. "For two weeks it was the movie, that caused it, according to Obama. He went to the UN and sighted the movie as causing the "riot". NO. That's a lie. The gross insulting film was in fact the cause of riots in both Cairo and Tunis--and the Un Speech said "That is what we saw play out the last two weeks, as a crude and disgusting video sparked outrage throughout the Muslim world. I have made it clear that the United States government had nothing to do with this video, and I believe its message must be rejected by all who respect our common humanity." If you can find the word "Benghazi" in that, knock yourself out. "He then arrested the guy who made the internet movie that was posted in July." REALLY?? Obama arrested the guy?? he was picked up for parole violations. "Probation officials have recommended a 24-month term for Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, prosecutors said in court. He faces a maximum of three years in prison if found to have violated his parole. Magistrate Judge Suzanne H. Segal ordered Nakoula detained, citing a “lengthy pattern of deception” by the man, adding that he poses “some danger to the community.” Where do you find 'Obama arrrested the guy'???? Trying to compare monitoring Storm damage to a consulate attack is way beyond apples and oranges. One's on TV. The other is classified video. But heh, you're the expert. "Obama and the media are disgusting." Well, then don't for him, and stop watching the media. Your paranoid 'It's a CONSPIRACY' garbage is frightening, and damaging your cause (whatever that is) |

"If you can find the word "Benghazi" in that, knock yourself out." Nice try but...FAIL. Neither can one find the words Cairo or Tunis...in OBAMA'S remarks. I don't care how YOU phrased it. You don't have a national audience that is charged wth the responsibility of electing a mature, competent and fully engaged president. |

Whoops "For two weeks it was the movie, that caused it, according to Obama. He went to the UN and sighted the movie as causing the "riot"." So did you magiccally find the "Behngazi" in there either?? No?? so then your "He went to the UN and sighted the movie as causing the "riot" was a lie. This is why you detest quotes. |

I detest propagandists like you... A guy who made a movie is put in jail by Obama. And if it wasn't the movie, as you claim, why is the guy STILL in jail? He won't get out until after the election. What crime did he commit? That's want communists do to people. They put you in jail for no apparent reason. Why doesn't the media care about that? What is Obama covering up? Why is Obama covering this up? |

And I detest idiots like you (and if that's not ad hominem enought for ya, I'll spell it out--that was an asinine jerk off comment) "A guy who made a movie is put in jail by Obama." NO. Judge Suzanne H. Segal, United States Magistrate Judge Central District Court of California, out the guy in jail. Appointed during the Bush years, 2002. The POTUS can't put local movie makers in jail--saying otherwise proves your a tin-foil hat wearing conspiracy nutcase. "why is the guy STILL in jail?" Because "The judge cited a "lengthy pattern of deception," including making false statements to probation officials. "The court has a lack of trust in the defendant at this time," Judge Suzanne H. Segal said, adding that he posed "some danger to the community." Nakoula was arrested earlier in the day. Federal prosecutors argued in a court hearing Thursday afternoon that he posed a flight risk and should remain in custody. Nakoula was convicted on bank fraud charges in 2010 and was warned against misbehaving on the Internet. He was ordered not to own or use devices with access to the Web without approval from his probation officer -– and any approved computers were to be used for work only. "Defendant shall not access a computer for any other purpose," according to the terms of his probation." Hence--you're in jail. "What crime did he commit?" See above. "That's want communists do to people."[sic] Take two Sen McCarthy pills and call us in the morning. "What is Obama covering up?" Aw I dunno, you've got everything else on this case so screwed up, let's just assume the real evidence is ina safe deposit box in the Caymans Islands and leave it at that. |

So now cruzo is vet? Earlier, he claimed he'd never served. You know, back when he was saying that combat veterans were "gaming the system." Now, he claims to be a vet. Maybe, Air Force intelligence -- back when he was "Newsvet" on the old site. Caught you, cruzo. |

Agreed, We have had years of "veterans" related posts--and while some of us have admited we had cushy desk jobs (like me), others have actually 'served'. cruise has admitted he never did. Now he's changing his story. Just goes to show what a liar he is and can't keep his stories straight. Fraud. |

Second... quit with the silly conspiracy theories. The guy who made the movie was not put in jail by Obama. He was locked up for violating probation -- for using computers after he was prohibited by the terms of his sentencing to avoid any access to computers for the term of his probation. sentence.http://news.yahoo.com/calif-man-behind-anti-muslim-film-ordered-jailed-012117266.html You're wild conspiracy claims indicate that you are growing desperate in the final hours of this campaign to throw any mud you can. I'm willing to bet a dollar that you will disappear from this forum on November 7, after your wild claim of a Romney landslide vaporizes. |

"Earlier, he claimed he'd never served" Nope. Never claimed that. Just never mentioned it. I usually keep my private life private and only reveal things if they are relevant...and in this case it certainly was. And I thought we'd put that thing about "newsvet" to bed for good. But I understand your pressing need to take the focus off of the FACT that you've never served...fraud. |

"I usually keep my private life private..." "...and only reveal things if they are relevant...and in this case it certainly was." So THAT'S WHY you kep your veteran status a secret!!! because any vet who would say "that the younger veterans...those returning from Iraq and Afghanistan...are leaning more toward Obama. THE REASON IS THAT FULLY ONE HALF OF THEM ARE SEEKING DISABILITY. Of course, they are more likely to receive it under Obama's entitlement society. This is in no way meant to disparage those who truly are disabled. But the inflated numbers suggest many are trying to game the system.” Yea...a real vet would most certainly keep cracks like that to themselves. |

How soon cruzo forgets... his carefully crafted character here. Perhaps he'll soon regale us with stories of how he was in Air Force intelligence during the Cold War -- surprisingly like the old "newsvet" claimed. The fact remains, cruzo has in the past claimed no military experience -- yet now, he's changing his tune. Interesting. |
