HURT: Obama the debater: Making Jimmy Carter look awesome

Bewildered and lost without his teleprompter, President Obama flailed all around the debate stage last night. He was stuttering, nervous and petulant. It was like he had been called in front of the principal after goofing around for four years and blowing off all his homework.

Not since Jimmy Carter faced Ronald Reagan has the U.S. presidency been so embarrassingly represented in public. Actually, that’s an insult to Jimmy Carter.

The split screen was most devastating. Mitt Romney spoke forthrightly, with carefully studied facts and details at the ready. He looked right at the president and accused him of being miles out of his depth.
Mr. Obama? His eyes were glued to his lectern, looking guilty and angry and impatient with all the vagaries of Democracy. This debate was seriously chaffing him.

What exactly was Mr. Obama’s strategy here? Did he figure with so many people unemployed in this abomination of an economy he should go for the sympathy vote? Like voters could relate to a guy who is just scared pantsless that he is about to lose his job?
In the middle of the blood-letting segment about jobs, Mr. Romney said good-naturedly: “This is fun.”

Almost pleading, Mr. Obama reached out to the moderator for a lifeline: “You may want to move onto another topic.”
When an unexpected noise went off behind him, Mr. Obama wheeled around to look as if to ask, “Time to go?”
Hopefully.

for laughs, i watched msnbc's coverage of the debate. matthews, schultz, maddow. they had a "dear leader had failed us" meltdown.

was that tears in matthews eyes? it was epic!

what would have made msnbc's coverage priceless? keith olbermann! msnbc needs olby back!!

best tweets of the night?

i thought going in romney will take two out of the three debates. obama will kill romney in the townhall style debate- especially if democrat plants are allowed in the audience- something cnn allowed in the 2008 republican townhall debate.

i can't wait for the ryan-biden debate. shame there is only one. i would be scared of biden debating anyone, too.

A Clear Romney Win

Good thing no one is fact checking him.

Or are they...?

And how. Because the New Yorker is such a major pacesetter of opinion west of the Hudson.

Haha...

Obama did fine...no one will base their vote on this debate. Besides, there is one more and Obama will tear into him in that one. Mittens is toast. The debate is all the cons have to hang their hats on...get ready for 4 more years of Obama...you picked a crappy candidate and Obama will take him down...

The New Yorker??

Have to admit, that was funny. A 'Uber Librul' NY elite publication has ANOTHER anti-Obama SATIRE cover...and it's proof of what??? Further evidence of the 'media in the bag for Obama' is a crock, but other than that...

and livinliberal, most of us know there are three more debates, one VP and two more Presidential. And even I don't think Mittens is toast--yet.

Sorry MP...

Thanks for the correction...thought there was just one more prez debate...even better...People will remember the last two more than the first one and Obama will be on his game for those...Willard is toast...and don't downplay Biden...he will go after Ryan with both barrels. Ryan will be shredded...I'll bet Biden will tear into him for the Ryan budget plan...dismantling Medicare and SS...he also won't let him get away the the "$716 Billion cut to Medicare which is a fabrication in the first place...and was in the Ryan budget!!!Oops...
