This is a wake up call. Stop promoting black Friday, small business Saturday (sponsored by a credit card company) and cyber Monday. The corporate world is taking your newsroom for a ride and you don't even know it. |

Way top go Ted !!! Agree 100% with Ted. Instead of the free promo time... How 'bout a piece on how Target, K-Mart, Sears etc. etc are putting profits ahead of families by opening-up at 8:00 pm on Thankisgiving Day. I'm sure we can find families who had relatives fly in from long distances away--only to see the teenage members of the family having to leave home hours early to man the cash registers at their local Dept. store. How about a real, in-depth piece on how WAL*MART treats it's 'associates' so badly---New York City has invited "the world's biggest retailer" NOT to open stores in the Big Apple. Just mention the word 'union' and they actually punish you by firing, or s**t shifts, make the workers do overtime for no extra pay, lock the store doors at the end of the night and tell workers they won't be allowed out until they help the cleaning staff clean up. |

The Black Friday live shots, at this point, have become predictable and boring. |

Well, boring is relative, but they're definitely predictable. Black Friday is the kind of story where all video and live shots and SOTS are the same as every year prior. |
