... for me to even consider a self imposed silence a' la bold cruiser.

How the media outrageously blew the IRS scandal: A full accounting

I read through it and cruiser, you aren't mentioned by name, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

The Whole Scandal Du Jour Season

(IMO) Will go down in the history of Congress as another in a long list of embarassments. Another 'This is why the people don't like us' phase.

From Teabaggers Walsh to Bachmann to West (who can forget when he "heard" that dozens of his Democratic colleagues in the House are members of the Communist Party) and finally Issa and his witch-hunts that went absolutely NOwhere.

It's bad enough Congress has managed to pass a whopping 15 laws this year--none of them creating jobs--but it's obvious they have no plans for anything now that the 'Scandals' have fizzled out. Maybe--MAYBE-- if they had the guts to censure Issa (ala Joe McCarthy) and actually dealt with Immigration and Jobs they might crawl their way up to an 15% approval.

orthicon Posted - 7/9/2013 12:44:54 AM | show profile | flag this post

mp.. what you're missing is the critical factor..

they don't CARE whether they get to 15 per cent or not..they never really have..

as long as they can continue to manufacture crap to attract public attention..to keep feeding the rightwingnut media machine, then they believe they are safe in their lairs..

the only thing that will accomplish the end of gridlock is wholesale losses by republican far right wingers.. to moderate or democrats..enough to give democrats control of the house..and that is becoming a real possibility this time around..

con Posted - 7/9/2013 10:18:52 AM | show profile | flag this post

speaking of " manufacture crap"

Police chief killed with rifle lost in ATF gun-tracking program

obama's fast and furious body count continues to rise.

but like the irs illegally targeting tea party/conservative groups, republican donors, and leaking tax info to democrats, trying to to get to the truth about benghazi, surveillance and foreign donations scandals, its all just "manufacture crap" because we love obama.

if obama was a "r" posters here would feel different.......

and mpdodgson, republicans have been blocked by democrats from getting job creating bills passed into law.

so we are left with obama/democrat policies which result in the weak job growth and one of the weakest recoveries on record...

etaoin shrdlu Posted - 7/9/2013 11:55:41 AM | show profile | flag this post

Another bogus "scandal"...

GOPers tried to tie to the President -- even though there was no connection.

The Republicans are the party that cried wolf.

Grasping at straws con

Another Mexican Drug Cartel murder deep inside Mexico--Stop the Presses--This HAS to be Obama's fault...

The Repubs Scandalpalooza was a monstrous waste of time and money and they should pay the price at the polls; but I doubt that will happen.

And btw, Boehner's 'We passed 30 jobs bills...' was always a boat-load of crap. Here's their list (courtesy of a Rep Congressman):

Notice a pattern here? NO actual infra-structure jobs. Not even part-time jobs for the unemployed. 18 of them reduce or eliminate government regulations in nearly every business sector, especially of energy and pollution. 6 give more tax breaks to the same big businesses that are sitting on record profits and not hiring people right now. One is an anti-union bill. Another makes it even easier to bring foreign high tech workers into the country to replace American workers at lower wages. One eliminates imaginary regulations against "farm dust". And one is the Paul Ryan budget that lays out a 'Path to Prosperity' that includes massive layoffs and gutting social programs.

At the heart of the GOP jobs package is a push for rolling back regulations -- and gutting environmental laws that regulate clean air and water -- to spur job growth. The House Republican Conference website makes the argument that deregulation will "remove onerous federal regulations that are redundant, harmful to small businesses, and impede private sector investment and job creation."

But economists told The Huffington Post that regulation has had a minimal impact on the unemployment rate. Their claim is backed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which shows that just under 16,000 jobs, or 0.4 percent, were lost because of "government regulations/intervention."

A 'JOBS BILL' creates actual jobs. Trying to repeal ObamaCare for the 40th time, or de-fund ACORN, or more energy company tax breaks, or trying to strip the EPA of regulation power--that kind of crap doesn't create jobs.

con Posted - 7/9/2013 1:34:16 PM | show profile | flag this post

"Not even part-time jobs for the unemployed."

isn't that what obama's recovery has brought upon us? low skill jobs and part-time work?

glad to see you admit obama regulations are costing jobs. and about 60 billion in coin.

"Another Mexican Drug Cartel murder deep inside Mexico--Stop the Presses--This HAS to be Obama's fault..."

police chief was killed by a gun given to drug cartels by the obama administration. no?

etaoin shrdlu Posted - 7/9/2013 1:58:41 PM | show profile | flag this post

Poor con....

grasping at straws.

He seems to think Obama's policies have cost jobs.

Remember, we were losing hundreds of thousands of jobs every month in the last year or so of the last GOP administration.

We've been adding jobs for years now.

And now he wants to somehow tie a Bush-era gun tracking idea to Obama? Even Issa has given up on that one!

But then, con thinks Jimmy Carter was Nixon's Vice President - how else could Carter have been President during the swine flu debacle?

What does he know.

orthicon Posted - 7/9/2013 2:04:54 PM | show profile | flag this post

con.. can you actually read and understand english?..

I know you can't write it..

but i'm starting to have serious questions as to whether or not you're actually functionally literate..

Grateful Deadline Posted - 7/9/2013 3:57:41 PM | show profile | flag this post

con must not have read cruster's link.

con Posted - 7/10/2013 12:03:01 PM | show profile | flag this post

etaoin shrdlu, do a grateful deadline much?

i would offer the same advice i give grateful deadline, perhaps re-reading what i posted will help you.

on the subject of jobs,

work force participation is at a 40 year low.

less than 47% of adults have full-time jobs.

most of the jobs that have been created during this alleged recovery has been low skill, low pay jobs with few or no benefits.

"What does he know." indeed.........

Grateful Deadline Posted - 7/10/2013 3:27:45 PM | show profile | flag this post

You gave me "advice"?

Oh, puh-leeze!

You, the Brainless Wonder who didn't bother reading the link in the original post to a HUMOR ARTICLE?

Grateful Deadline Posted - 7/10/2013 3:48:46 PM | show profile | flag this post

Hey, con, I appreciate your picking out me of the whole big crowd here, even when I didn't say whatever you said I said and even when I'm not in the thread at all, BUT I HEREBY AND FORTHWITH OFFICIALLY AND FOREVER QUIT AS THE SIDEKICK IN YOUR HUMOR SHOW!

You'll just have to man up and go it alone, buddy.

etaoin shrdlu Posted - 7/10/2013 3:52:33 PM | show profile | flag this post

Poor con...

can't understand that whole "baby boom" thing.

Yes, adult workforce participation is dropping, because the baby boomers are passing into retirement and life expectancy is increasing. WE HAVE A RECORD NUMBER OF RETIREES!

This is one of the most misleading figures little minds like con's like to bring up.

So how do you propose to correct this, con? Demand people work until they die or kill retirees? Both sound like the kinds of solutions you would support.

Grateful Deadline Posted - 7/10/2013 3:59:38 PM | show profile | flag this post

Don't mess with con. I can't even find this "advice" he thinks he gave me over something I didn't say.

Best leave the poor fella to commune with Puff the Magic Dragon in his own little happy land.

mpdodgson Posted - 7/10/2013 4:47:51 PM | show profile | flag this post

And for further clairification

That "less than 47% of adults have full-time jobs" that con dropped on the rug like a dog turd...? It was floated by Breitbart, then Drudge...then the wingnut blogosphere ran with it.

Accordingto their logic; Michelle Obama, Warren Buffett, Mitt Romney, and my Alzheimers suffering Mom living in VA are among the millions out there without full time work due to Obama policies.

Say Whaaa? What Brietbart did was take the the entire adult civilian noninstutional population of 245,552,000...looked up who was working full time (a seasonally-adjusted 115,998,000)...and subtracted. Voila. "less than 47% of adults have full-time jobs".

We've got over 50 million retirees, but let's not quibble. Not to mention prisoners, hospital patients, etc. And, in all fairness, Mitt DID TRY for a full time job last year and blew the interview...but c'mon. We're that desperate in Obamaphobia-Land we have to pull this shit?

Thank god they didn't include toddlers or we'd be up 95% unemployment. And that SURELY would be Obama's fault.

con Posted - 7/11/2013 9:17:30 AM | show profile | flag this post

"And for further clairification"

mpdodgson, you should do more research. the "47%" didn't come from breitbart, drudge or the wingnut blogospher. there's this search engine called bing. all the kool kids use it. you can be one of the kool kids to.

keep trying.... while millions of american struggle to find full-time employment- and millions more stop looking.....

mpdodgson Posted - 7/11/2013 9:51:27 AM | show profile | flag this post

con? "Bing"

is a 'search engine', it's not a source. Idiot. You type in something like " "less than 47% of adults have full-time jobs" and you get back the list of sources.

...In this case they're all copying from the same basic false article and just regurgitating it. Scroll down to the "DailyBell.com" for example and the description reads " A short article posted at the conservative Breitbart website and then posted at Drudge.com ... "

We've warned you before. Don't lecture people in the biz who have forgotten far more than you'll ever know.

con Posted - 7/11/2013 9:53:27 AM | show profile | flag this post

grateful deadline again shows us what happens when you fire before you aim.

i would take comfort knowing grateful will no longer respond to what i post.

but, i know she can't help herself.............

con Posted - 7/11/2013 10:02:19 AM | show profile | flag this post

"is a 'search engine',"

which is exactly what i said......... you're learning grasshopper.......

etaoin shrdlu Posted - 7/11/2013 10:03:29 AM | show profile | flag this post

Con doesn't know how to use a search engine...

well that explains a lot.

Right now even the "un-cool kids" are laughing at how computer illiterate he is.

And that just killed the credibility of his argument.

Maybe you should Google "baby boom retirees affecting employment levels," con.

Grateful Deadline Posted - 7/12/2013 2:11:27 PM | show profile | flag this post

>>>grateful deadline again shows us what happens when you fire before you aim.

i would take comfort knowing grateful will no longer respond to what i post. <<<

Once again, you show that you've got nothing churning inside that skull except a generator for cheap shots with no "off" switch.

Too bad about your comfort and wishful thinking, but I have no intention to quit responding to your idiocy-filled posts. Thankfully, there are others here, too, who straighten out your posts' half-truths, bad math, poor research and outright lies. You should acknowledge them, too, once in a while with one of your brainless cheap shots about something that doesn't pertain to them in a thread in which they're not participating.

You act like you're about 14 years old. Are you? If so, your parents ought to ground you for misrepresenting Republicans.

con Posted - 7/12/2013 2:35:32 PM | show profile | flag this post

i knew you couldn't help yourself.....

sad to say i will be taking a break from posting here so i can work on content for my website.

keep your head up grateful deadline, i'll be back soon..................

Have y'all seen con's website?!?!?

I'm thinking this may be it:

Beware, may cause seizures.

Two other possibilities

Right down con's alley:
