Erik Mathes
Erik Mathes is a freelance writer specializing in food, drink and travel.  Before embarking on this path, he earned a degree in finance and marketing from Tulane University and a culinary arts degree from Le Cordon Bleu College, and he cooked in fine-dining restaurants and as a personal/private chef for professional athletes, CEOs, and members of high-society.  He started a blog called “Rantings of a Chef” to market his personal chef company, which eventually was recognized by Martha Stewart for its excellence and led him to pursue writing as a full-on career.  Today, Erik contributes articles, restaurant reviews and original recipes to a multitude of publications, including The Daily Meal,  Yahoo!, BuzzFeed, and BlackboardEats, and he is in the midst of developing his newest food blog, Feasts of Fury.
