The poor, the middle class and the rich all just got a tax increase.
If you work, your taxes just went up.
Obama lied again. But that's what people voted for.

Where and when did the President ever say "taxes will never go up". I Googled it and found nothing, what did you find to say "Obama lied again." Just wondering.

Here is the lie....
Obama: "If you make less than $250,000 a year, your taxes will not go up."
Obama "We are asking the wealthy to pay their fair share."
Any person who works, will now pay higher taxes starting with you first paycheck in January.
Obama has lied, multiple times on this issue.

The tax "hike" you're talking about...
is not a hike.
It's the expiration of a temporary tax holiday. It was placed on payroll taxes -- what we have taken out of our checks for Social Security and Medicare.
So taxes did not go up -- they went back to where they were supposed to be all along.
Nice try, though.

Try to be consistent
Democrats have been calling things like this "tax increases" when trying to hammere Republicans. You people need to accept the FACT tha, in your parlance, it IS a tax increase.
Not only that but Obama's "victory" is going to add $4 TRILLION to the deficit.
The GOP and the American people got snookered. Obama won all the points, taxes went up, the deficit went up, and out-of-control spending will NOT be cut.
What a sorry state of affairs.

That if "taxes" (whatever that means) revert back to their old levels--That's not a tax "increase", it's going back to where they were?? If Grover accepts that (and I think we all agree he's the craziest anti-tax zealot there ever was) why can't you wingnuts accept it?

Both parties got us into this mess, both parties have to get us out of it. If you voted for Repubs consistently--this is partly your fault. If you voted for Dems consistently--this is partly your fault.
Yea, we can all sit on the sidelines and bitch about it--But facts are facts. Putting all the blame on Obama simply because you hate the guy makes you look like the juvenile fool.
You think we got here overnight?? Bush set the all-time record by increasing the debt by $1.1 trillion in 100 days. More off the books. Even St. Reagan had budget deficits, and added to the Debt. Yes--Obama SPENT EVEN MORE. But when you're out of work--you find work--you don't pay off the household debts. Duh.
We STILL have yet to face the 'Budget Cutting' part of this deal--and there will be blood. But this constant boo-hoo-waa-waa stomp my feet childish I-hate-that-guy bullshit is ridiculous.

I just call him names, disparage his behavior as president and an individual, make vaguely racist comments about him and his wife, and pretend to pity him, then use a condescending approach as though I were much smarter and more qualified to do the job he was elected to do twice, and judge his performance with an attitude of clear disdain and contempt.

I don't care how people on the left want to phrase it.
ALL working people will pay higher taxes, within two weeks.
Obama never said, " the poor, the middle class and the rich will pay higher taxes"
Obama never said, "everyone needs to pay their fair share"
Obama, the dems and the media, have framed their plan as " a tax increase on the wealthy"
Apparently, if you are a single mom making $10 per hour, Obama, the dems and the media think you are wealthy, based on what they told us.

He promised tax hikes on the rich. He delivered He NEVER promised to extend the payroll tax holiday.
But I do love how you and cruzo -- after four years of bashing the Obama stimulus plan -- are now having a fit because part of it was allowed to expire!
Looks like you are both coming around to supporting Obama -- even if you don't realize it!

The rich made off with this one, too...
Payroll taxes are going up. At least for people making $113,000 a year and less. Those making more than that do't pay a dime above that level. So while their taxes will go up, it will be a significant lower percentage than everyone else. If you are making $100,000 a year you will pay $2,000 a year more. So will Bill Gates. That sounds fair to me. They need to wipe out the cap on Social Security and make the wealthy pay on their entire amount like the rest of us. That way they could cut the tax rate significantly across the board and still come up with more money. Just another case of Congress protecting the rich. They also need to count capital gains as income as well when it comes to SS. A person drawing SS can only make $18,000 a year in extra income. However, a person making $500,000 a year on investments can get SS without worrying about going over any limits. That seems really fair as well. Let's even out the playing field for once!

But in the end, the poor, the middle class and EVERY WORKING person has to pay more in taxes.
It's the truth. You can't change the truth and you know it.

you and every other Republican out there have been demanding an end to this tax break for nearly four years.
You and the other posters here have said over and over that the Obama stimulus plan "failed."
THESE tax breaks WERE the Obama stimulus plan.
Now, you're whining that they expired -- as they were meant to do -- on January 1.
Obama NEVER promised they'd be extended. The media never promised they'd be extended.
You got what you wanted -- an end to part of the Obama stimulus. It's what you've been demanding since 2009.
You should be happy.
