You're own link... just blew your argument out of the water, secondcoming. You missed this early paragraph: "These are the kinds of extremes climate scientists have predicted will come with climate change, although it's far too early to say that is the cause. Nor will they say global warming is the reason 3,215 daily high temperature records were set in the month of June." You really should read the article behind Drudge's alarmist headlines before posting the link here. It'd save you a ton of embarrassment. |

You are the one who should be embarrassed. These are the SAME scientists who said an ICE AGE was coming our way because of global cooling due to man made CO2. |

and my point is dead on... Left wingers using two weather related events that happen every summer. Like a heat wave in the summer, (shock), and wildfires out west in the summer, (more shock), to boast their claims. You can't use current weather events and extrapolate that to the climate. That's one of your arguments when record cold hits. |

Evidence Means Nothing The fact that we are seeing weather patterns that are in line with the "global warming" forecasts we've been hearing for years is not evidence that those forecasts are correct. Lefties rely on "facts" and stacks of "evidence" to skew the argument the way they like. Fortunately, I rely on my belief that global cooling is imminent, despite a complete lack of evidence. That's why I am a Mensa member. |

There Are No Links You won't find links to reports that CO2 in the atmosphere hastens global cooling because liberal activist scientists maintain that can't happen. The evidence that global cooling is brought on by co2 is ideological, and therefore solid. |

Actually I found it.... http://denisdutton.com/cooling_world.htm They were discussing about trying to MELT the ICE CAP with black soot to ease GLOBAL COOLING. LOL !!!!!! Climatologists are pessimistic that political leaders will take any positive action to compensate for the climatic change, or even to allay its effects. They concede that some of the more spectacular solutions proposed, such as melting the Arctic ice cap by covering it with black soot or diverting arctic rivers.... |

You really should read what you post... One article in Newsweek does not make a scientific concensus that exists today on global warming. Today, you have a widespread scientific consensus, supported by national academies and all the major scientific institutions, solidly behind the warning that the temperature is rising, anthropogenic CO2 is the primary cause, and it will worsen unless we reduce emissions. In the 1970s, there was a book in the popular press, a few articles in popular magazines, and a small amount of scientific speculation based on the recently discovered glacial cycles and the recent slight cooling trend from air pollution blocking the sunlight. There was no avalanche of scientific articles. In fact, you failed to find ANY scientific articles. Only a story in the popular press. Again, one article in Newsweek does not make for a scientific concensus. And NO WHERE in that article does it say that CO2 would COOL the planet into an ice age. That's against the laws of physics. CO2 absorbs heat, stores it and releases it. You've really embarassed yourself again, secondcoming. |

I read the whole article and you lie. The article was written in April of 1975 you kook. How could an article written in 1975 discuss the warming trend in 1979? Scientists were convinced global cooling was occurring and they were trying to come up with ways to MELT the ICE CAP. You asked for proof and you got it. It proves my point. |

But you've failed miserably to show any evidence that it was "the same scientists" who now form a global consensus that global warming is real. You have also failed to show ANY scientist showing how CO2 could lead to "global cooling." Still waiting. Anytime. Want to embarrass yourself some more? |

The only one who is an embarrassment is you Global cooling was all the rage in 1975. It was settled science to the point where the scientist were thinking of ways to MELT the ICE CAP. LOL at you kooks ! Other global cooling headlines: Washington Post Article in July 1971 “U.S. Scientist Sees New Ice Age Coming,” blares the headline of the July 9, 1971, article, which cautions readers that the world “could be as little as 50 or 60 years away from a disastrous new ice age, a leading atmospheric scientist predicts. In the next 50 years — or by 2021 — fossil-fuel dust injected by man into the atmosphere “could screen out so much sunlight that the average temperature could drop by six degrees,” resulting in a buildup of “new glaciers that could eventually cover huge areas.” DOH! I just provided the 1970's consensus of fossil fuel global cooling. Can't wait for your next lie ES. |

Another global cooling scientist...from Stanford In the 1970s Professor Schneider was one of the leading voices warning the Earth was going to experience a catastrophic man-made ice-age. However he is now a member of the UN IPCC and is a leading advocate warning that the Earth is facing catastrophic global warming. In 1971, Schneider co-authored a paper warning of the possibility of a man-made “ice age.” |

Still waiting, secondcoming.... You've only shown some popular press articles about a very tiny number of scientists looking into the possibility of "global cooling." You've failed to show any scientific consensus from the 1970s nor widespread publication of scientific studies backing up this pop-sci hypothesis. Nor have you shown any scientific study explaining how CO2 would result in global cooling. So. Still waiting. |
