HBO's Newsroom has a lot wrong with it but I'll be dammed if they don't get a lot right!! This new show aspires to be what I always envisioned the real news purpose to be and that was to give the American public the facts, the truth and help weed out the fictitious bs the corporate owners want you to believe is news. Actually nobody in their right mind would have ever believed Americans would so easily give up their informational freedoms to money grubbing fake would be Americans but it just goes to show the average American does need help separating wheat from the chad. I still hold out hope journalism will return to it's rightful place of honor but it will take folks with courage and integrity to make it happen.

okay, tried watching again...

Aside from the one sided bashing (again all anti republican, pro democrat), I decided to watch the whole episode. Somewhere in there I came to a calming realization...most of the Newsroom's viewers are liberals who already bury their heads in the sand to anything but uber liberal ideas. As one of you said in this thread, "i love the fact newsroom gets most of its "material" from think progress and media matters- just like most journos do." That does say a lot; you all partake from the common liberal trough. However, the fact that this show isn't of great interest to a large audience is encouraging. I still believe Newsroom has terrific dialogue, pace and characters, but it's heavy handed bashing of republicans and business gets old very fast. Another Sorkin propaganda show.
At least that's my take on it. Yes, I'm still watching it because I like to see anything associated with newsrooms. Brings back some fond memories of the days real journalists use to inhabit them.

"Another Sorkin propaganda show"

You were expecting something different?
