Obama is still refusing to negotiate. His interest is in vilifying the republicans. As his former chief of staff said, never let a crisis go to (political) waste.

We don't have a true president in office. He far exceeds the incompetency of Carter with the addition of a truly narcissistic personality.

I know, this falls on the deaf ears of most newsroom types, who are overwhelming in this guys pockets. Yes, I'm ranting, but I feel I'm doing so with good reason.

How nice for you.

But, You Always Rant

Why is this post any different?

Rant, bitch, moan, complain, blame Obama, repeat.

The conservative mantra.

Ohmmmmmmmmm...

Democrats think of themselves

and party loyalty...in that order...to the virtual exclusion of EVERYthing else.

An example is the current "negotiation" over the debt limit, which is set to expire Thursday.

Over the weekend, conferees from both parties had just about worked out a compromise to avert the deadline but Democrats, who are thinking ONLY of themselves and loyalty to their completely unprincipled party, decided to up the ante...again...and demand a rollback of the sequester...which was Obama's idea in the first place and heavily lobbied by congressional Democrats.

And what do you know? That caused the negotiations to come to a halt...again. Democrats at fault...again. Trying to push a perceived political advantage...again. Unfit to govern...continuously.

cruster Posted - 10/14/2013 2:03:17 PM | show profile | flag this post

Democrats at Fault Indeed!

And yet the public blames the GOP, overwhelmingly!

Look at the polls. How can this happen?

Why won't Obama surrender to his overwhelming political advantage and give in to the Tea Party radicals? It defies logic.

It's Obama's fault! It's Obama's fault! It's Obama's fault!!!!!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!

Oh, fer cryin' out loud, get back on your rocker already!

Someday you'll find out that Santa Claus is a Democrat and your revulsion will force you to give back your Lionel train. How do you manage to come up with so much outrageous bullshit? Every day's an adventure!

If it weren't for a Democrat, you'd have no Social Security or Medicare. You'd be out plowing a field with your big blue ox Babe instead of farting around all day writing loopy posts among people who ask you to support your loops with facts.

"If it weren't for a Democrat..."

It was actually two Democrats but who's counting? And it was when Democrats were actually reasonable people and trying to do their best for the country.

Obama is neither doing his best nor reasonable. As evidence of his unreasonableness, CBS News is reporting that Obama is now promoting a "Republican Default Tax," another cynical scheme he dreamed up in his continuing efforts to run the government unilaterally and with no input from the congress. His only use for congressional Democrats to block GOP efforts to enforce the tripartite and co-equal nature of our government as specified in the Constitution, a condition with which Obama neither agrees nor comports himself.

Obama's "Republican Default Tax" is one more cynical attempt to win political points with the American people and cast the blame on the GOP for HIS OWN intractibility and unwillingness to compromise.

It is, of course, a follow-on to his eleventh hour insistence on a rollback of the sequester provisions AFTER house and senate conferees were just about to reach an agreement that essentially took him out of the loop...a condition he simply cannot stand because he's no longer the center of attention or calling the shots.

Arrogant, imperious, condescenting, narcissistic. History will judge him to be the worst ever to hold the office of president.

Of course, he's none of that, but if you close your eyes tightly and click your heels, it comes true for *you.*

History certainly will judge that he was the president saddled with the worst Congress ever to hold office.

Look for a major House- and Senate-cleaning in the upcoming elections. Now they're busy losing the retiree vote. How stupid is that, when your party's major voting bloc in the last election was retirees?

I wrote to my congressman about Congress, telling him to get off his duff and work for his constituency and to get his cronies to do the same. I voiced my opinion where it had impact and stated the reasons behind it.

What did you do besides park yourself online and feel like you were building yourself up by ripping other people down?

cruiser Posted - 10/14/2013 8:24:26 PM | show profile | flag this post

" I voiced my opinion where it had impact"

You're delusional. Unless you are a MAJOR contributor your comments get ZERO consideration from your congresscritter. As a matter of fact, he or she likely never sees them. They are likely discarded by a low-level staffer who may or MAY NOT record them statistically. And if you get a response at all, it is generic text that doesn't really address your issue. And it is sent by said low-level staffer, not your rep.

You are really naive as to how congress works.

Grateful Deadline Posted - 10/14/2013 8:52:53 PM | show profile | flag this post

So you're saying that we should all sit on our asses and not bother, like you do?

Well, it *is* a lot easier to complain than to try to do something about it.

Grateful Deadline Posted - 10/14/2013 8:55:07 PM | show profile | flag this post

Tell me, does sitting on your ass give you special dispensation to talk against the president all day long?

Does sitting on your ass and eating all the yellow M&Ms make you smarter?

Honestly don't know where

the wingnuts get this crap.

"Obama is still refusing to negotiate" Really?? The headline I read was "President Obama summoned top congressional leaders to the White House for a midafternoon meeting Monday that could prove critical to acclerating efforts to end the crisis that has paralyzed Washington and avoid an unprecedented default on the nation’s debt."

Why that BASTARD! Furthermore; "The White House meeting between Obama and the top congressional leadership of both parties comes amid a variety of negotiations on Capitol Hill seeking an end to the crisis." Why that stubborn prick!!

Here's the bottom line: "The rough outlines of a deal to end the government shutdown and raise the debt ceiling emerged Monday as key senators huddled to hammer out the specifics of a possible compromise.

Both Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said they are closing in on an agreement to end a two-week-old government shutdown and stave off a default on the national debt come Thursday."

"History will judge him to be the worst ever to hold the office of president." Holy crap on a cracker. Because...we all know...actually ending two wars is far worse than starting two wars...and creating a few million or so jobs is obviously far worse than losing a million or two jobs...and actually capturing and killing terrorists is a virtual sin compared to letting them attack us in the first place. Yea. There's great wingnut logic for you.

"Arrogant, imperious, condescenting, narcissistic"

I know you are cruiser.

But what am I?

cruiser Posted - 10/14/2013 11:48:16 PM | show profile | flag this post

"President Obama summoned top congressional leaders..."

And when,,,exactly...did he do that? Today, right? AFTER two weeks of unequivocal assertions that he was "not going to negotiate." (His words, not mine...I put them in quotes.)

A couple hours of FINALLY acceding to the demands of the entire country DOES NOT cancel two weeks of partisan intractibility. And you're a dumbass if you think it does.

Grateful Deadline Posted - 10/15/2013 12:06:39 AM | show profile | flag this post

mp, give a limited guy a break, would ya? It's entirely possible the untrained bloggers that cruiser trusts for all his "news" took the long holiday weekend off.

Gosh, cruiser, did you misplace your highly trained genius or just forget to switch it on right there? Geniuses don't talk like this to other people; room-temperature IQs do. Get it in gear, old man!

This Thread is About Boehner, isn't it?

Or Ted Cruz, right?

"He doesn't think of the country, only himself"

Boehner, Cruz? Right?

I mean this isn't a transparent and pathetically DESPERATE attempt to make the shutdown look like it's all Obama, is it?

I mean, we're not stupid, right?

VTexan Posted - 10/15/2013 8:28:27 AM | show profile | flag this post

This kind of thread

...shows the manic weirdness of someone obsessed with Obama as an ambiguous and negative figure. They mistake circumspection for disengagement. They mistake thoughtfulness for vanity. They mistake a disinclination to engage in bickering as exclusivity.

He's the President for chrissakes. He's not another Congressman fighting for air time. He's not a blowhard on a 24-hour news channel. He's not an author creating soundbites to move book sales.

It's always interesting to me to see how Obama, being essentially the flip of the coin to the last guy who was President, is so intentionally miss-read, and always assigned dubious intent by the haters. To assign to him any of the positive qualities that he does possess would work actively against your world view, and that won't be tolerated.

It is, when it gets down to it, an amazingly immature grasp of history, the Presidency and human nature. It reveals those who indulge in it for being what they are: small change artists (although assigning any derivative of the word art is being too kind). I do thank you though for underscoring just how little credence we should give your posts, though. On occasion newscred I almost want to give you the benefit of the doubt. It's good to be reminded that you haven't earned it.

blackedtaped Posted - 10/15/2013 10:51:57 AM | show profile | flag this post

VTexan, I offer you another opinion

There is nothing ambiguous about President Obama. His actions are calculated and very deliberate. I do agree that he is a card flip from the previous President, he shows no signs of leadership. We elected a person with no leadership experience and very little national political experience. We are reaping what we sowed as a nation. No one can be surprised by what is happening.

VTexan Posted - 10/15/2013 8:08:59 PM | show profile | flag this post

The Last President

...was a big leader? Oh blackedtape...that sucking sound is your credibility being sucked right out through peoples' computers, ipads and iphones.

You done been bushwacked.

House cancels vote on plan to reopen government

"The stunning turnaround could represent yet another rebuke to Boehner, whose previous efforts at compromise have been thwarted by his party’s right flank"

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/gop-lawmakers-to-meet-in-house-senate-details-of-senate-plan-being-finalized/2013/10/15/ab65e082-358f-11e3-be86-6aeaa439845b_story.html?hpid=z1

Why has Obama made them do this? Refusing to negotiate with this small radical wing of the GOP?

Must be the fluoridated water!
