you can absolutely confirm that every single right winger in this country who opposes immigration reform has no racist inclinations?
How about these conservative, right wing anti-immigration groups?
*American Border Patrol,
*American Immigration Control Foundation/Americans for Immigration Control
*American Patrol/Voice of Citizens Together (see Glenn Spencer)
*California Coalition for Immigration Reform
*Concerned Citizens and Friends of Illegal Immigration Law Enforcement
*Federation for American Immigration Reform
*Save Our State
*Social Contract Press
*United for a Sovereign America (USA)
*US Border Guard & Border Rangers
All have been designated as hate groups for their opposition to non-white immigration.

I haven't designated any of them as hate groups
That appellation comes from you radical leftists and left wing media outlets.
Don't you think your reliance on charges of racism is getting threadbare? And more than a little passe? It's like the boy who cried "wolf." But you've been there before...repeatedly.

Imagine that -- cruiser takes on the national responsibility for designating which groups are ethnophobic and which aren't.

like he'd actually KNOW???
not bloody likely..

While the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League may bt the most well known 'Hate Group" identifiers, they work very closely with the FBI (NOT what you would call "radical leftists and left wing media outlets."
The FBI sys there were 6,222 hate crimes in 2011.
About 47% were over race. 20% over sexual orientation. About 20% over religion. The rest were over national origin or disabilities.
"Playing the Race Card" is not a 'librul or lefist thing'. It's a national tragedy. IMO.

A question for you, etaoin...
Can you absolutely confirm that every single right winger in this country who opposes immigration reform has racist inclinations?
Posted - 1/31/2013 6:02:01 PM | show profile | flag this post
"every single right winger "??
No of course not....But when one of the most famous right wingers of all time--Rush---gets away with this kind of stuff:
“All right, time to delve here into our illegal immigration stack, and as we always do, ladies and gentlemen, we stand for the Star Spanglish Banner prior to getting into the stack,” he said, then after the song, added “That is José y Los Ilegales and the Star-Spanglish Banner.”
and to me--here's the worst part--NO GOP Leaders slaps him down for it. Marco Rubio was on the show recently (Yes, Rubio) and he NEVER told Rush his bullshit was insulting. Yes, Rush was polite to him--BUT "With no Sen. Rubio around, however, Limbaugh described immigrants as “hordes of low wage, unskilled, uneducated people,” and “illegal, uneducated, low wage, unskilled,” “who are here just to bleed us dry.”
Four years ago, the then Chairman of the RNC said “The 2008 election was a wake-up call for Republicans to reach out and bring more people into our party. I am shocked and appalled that anyone would think this is appropriate as it clearly does not move us in the right direction.”
I saw NOTHING in the 2012 election that gave me any indication the Party listened to him.

"one of the most famous right wingers of all time - Rush"
Are you kidding me??? I don't listen to Limbaugh very often but even I know that part of his schtick is political comentary AND A BIG PART OF IT IS ENTERTAINMENT.
His comment about the Star Spanglish Banner is on a par with the musical parodies his producers come up with on a regular basis.
But I know it makes wonderful political theater for the radical left to hyperbolize Limbaugh's comments and take them out of context while wearing their phony indignation and self-righteousness on their sleeves.

Just another charming day in the neighborhood ...

You are the one who started the charges of racism and managed to derail a conversation about immigration. Now you make a snide comment about the tone of the board ? Really????

"Can you absolutely confirm that every single right winger in this country who opposes immigration reform has racist inclinations?"
I never suggested that. I said that there is a racial element in the opposition to immigration. That opposition involves millions of people who oppose immigration for various reasons. I showed a list of avowed racist groups who are opposed to immigration. That shows that there are those on the right who oppose immigration for racial reasons.
I never said that ALL conservatives are racist or have racist inclinations. Again, you either don't grasp English or are severely parsing words.

Those groups are NOT
anti immigration. They're anti ILLEGAL immigration. And they're not motivated by racism or xenophobia. They're motivated by respect for the laws of the US.
If you claim to be an American who loves his country, you should have the same motivation.

Have you looked into ANY of those organizations? They are designated hate groups.
Next you'll be defending the KKK (another anti-immigration outfit) as a bunch of guys who just like to sing around bonfires.

So let me see here, you cannot state that everyone who opposes immigration reform has a racial agenda. Yet you challenge someone else to state that everyone who opposes immigration reform does not have a racial agenda. But I do not have a grasp of the English language, right? Yeah sure.
Some day you will learn words mean things. At least I hold out hope for you.

I never said that EVERY conservative has racial motives.
I said, and backed up with fact, that there are MANY conservatives who DO have a racial agenda.
Do YOU deny that?
Posted - 2/1/2013 10:57:33 AM | show profile | flag this post
Designated by whom?
The answer is radical left wingers who have a political agenda and characterize any opposition as "hate."
It's just more class warfare...which the left has elevated to an art form and they've been practicing it for decades.

Oh, and cruzo...
as far as your unfounded claim that Obama has been "ignoring" the border, here are a couple of points that should show that he's paying plenty of attention to securing the border.
First, Obama is on track to setting a record for the most deportations of undocumented aliens in the U.S.
"[A] report released last week shows that 2 million people will be deported by 2014 -- more than the total number of deportations before 1997 -- if they continue at the current rate."
That rate is backed up by increased attention to border security:
The ranks of the U.S. Border Patrol have more than doubled during the past seven years, to more than 21,000 in the 2012 fiscal year. At the same time, the government ramped up criminal prosecutions of illegal immigrants, with CBP and ICE referring more cases for prosecution than all Justice Department agencies combined, the report found.
"Arrests along the border fluctuated for decades, but dropped sharply with the 2008 recession and the stepped-up enforcement, reaching a 40-year low in 2012. Deportations from America's interior have swelled, with removals growing from 30,000 in 1990 to a record-setting 409,000 last year."

Ladies and gentlemen...
Cruzo! He's now defending the KKK as not being a hate group.
How many times has he jumped the shark?

lies. Is anyone surprised?

To answer cruzo's question...
Hate group designations are made by the Anti-Defamation League, the Southern Poverty Law Center and the FBI. The list I provided earlier includes groups designated as a hate group by one, two or all three of the groups or federal law enforcement agency listed above.
And, as I pointed out, the KKK is also on the record opposing immigration reform. So add them to the list, too. They make all three's list.
Care to explain yourself, cruzo?

Please don't. Nobody wants to read this drivel.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is
a far left group. Nuff said. I'd bet all of the groups you listed are on their list and VERY FEW or NONE on the other two lists.

I think congratulations are in order here..
We managed to take a somewhat civil discussion about the proposed reforms to the current immigrations laws and turn it into a racism smack down. Not my proudest moment but it is the norm for this forum. Too bad.

I'm not surprised blacked
any more than you are. I looked back at my original post that started this, and noticed I didn't even need to use the word "race".
But this is such an super-charged emotional issue, bigotry does come out eventually. It's my personal opinion that those groups mentioned above are indeed anti-immgrant hate groups (just check out one of them)
cruise says they're 'anti-illegal' not 'anti-immgrant'. Bullcrap. They're racist. There's about 11 million illegals in the country right now--about 58% from Mexico. When a Republican candidate for president (Cain) talks about a 'Great Wall, electrified fence, and an alligator filled moat'--He's not talking about Canadian students here past their visa now is he?
So 42% of our illegals aren't from Mexico. But that's what the hate groups focus on. Racist? Can't say for certain, but it sure sounds like it. (No one during the campaign was advocating re-opening Ellis Island to keep those dirty Swedes from coming here)
Let's hope Cngress does a better job with keeping race out of this than we posters here have.
