Jennifer Derryberry Mann

Professional/Personal Overview
I'm a sometimes-slouchy yoga teacher who's candid enough to admit it in an article about good posture. As a freelance magazine writer, I've covered the mind/body beat from the perspective of yoga, tai chi, breathing, and bellydancing. I've written about spirituality as it connects to health as well as to dating, relating, and our sense of self. As an editor, I've researched, concepted, and directed coverage on the mixing and mashing of science and spirituality, on what New Urbanism has to teach us about being better neighbors and living richer lives, and on leading a healthy way of life (from personal fitness plan to eco-smarts for the family). I've also worked with trade mags for horticulture retailing and international agriculture. Most recently, I've focused on women's prenatal and postnatal experience, and edited a book of birth stories that will be published in Summer 2010 by Fairview Press.
