The only one playing the victim...

cruzo -- was Megyn Kelly.

She's taking a serious drubbing over this nonsense -- having to admit --on the air -- she was wrong about Jesus being white.

And as far as the Identity movement being non-consequential. Well, I covered them through a couple of bloody years in Arkansas, where they killed State Troopers in ambushes and plotted a shooting spree in a northern Arkansas lake town.

And I lost a high school friend in the Oklahoma City bombing.

So, the movement was pretty consequential to me.

And Kelly's nonsense is a sign that their argument of racial superiority through Christ is still seeping into the mainstream.

And Kelly's rant will have to go...

down in history alongside the most famous quote from Texas' first female Governor, Miriam Amanda Wallace "Ma" Ferguson.

In a battle over bilingualism in Texas schools, she is credited with having said: “If English was good enough for Jesus Christ, it ought to be good enough for the children of Texas.”

"Jesus was a white man, too. It's like we have, he's a historical figure that's a verifiable fact." -- Megyn Kelly.

To fire back one of your favorite words

This is a nontroversy you're trying to gin up into a scandal for purely partisan reasons.

Quinntessential Posted - 12/16/2013 11:55:30 AM | show profile | flag this post

Stop it... Etaoin. You hate fox News. We get it.

Hyperbole isn't going to help blow this story up anymore. You can't carry this "nontroversy" any further. RIP....

This attribution to Ma Ferguson is wrong. History recognizes that fact.

“If English was good enough for Jesus Christ, it ought to be good enough for the children"

Was often said to mock the way southern (christians) people talked.

Keeping hating.

I'm done with this topic.

Kelly was forced by public outcry to apologize about calling Jesus white.

And it's bouncing all over the Internet, social media -- and even SNL did a routine on it.

Plus, it's given John Stewart a ton of material this week. You know John Stewart -- the guy who has more eyeballs on his commentary than anyone on FOX News?

Kelly was on network television just nights before telling America she was not an "opinion show host" -- that she was a real journalist. This silly little rant of hers has cost her a lot of credibility -- and has cost the "very powerful Fox News network" a lot of credibility, too.

cruiser Posted - 12/16/2013 2:47:56 PM | show profile | flag this post

An absolute nontroversy

you're trying to gin up into something way bigger. There have been black Santa Clauses in Los Angeles and other locations for decades.

A trivial misstatement is NOT capital offense. Democrats and their media compatriots do it all the time and I don't make a big issue of them. And the media...including the leftist journalists here...certainly don't.

etaoin shrdlu Posted - 12/16/2013 3:13:05 PM | show profile | flag this post

Cruzo's "reading comprehension"...

has sunk even farther.

Or he hasn't even read or seen Kelly's rant.

Or, he's agreeing with me.

Cruzo said: "There have been black Santa Clauses in Los Angeles and other locations for decades."

Yes. That was exactly what Kelly was condemning. And that is what has gotten her into so much hot water.

Go back and listen to her rant. She was attacking the idea that there should be any interpretation of Santa as anything except white -- and that black people should just get over it.

Remember her line to African Americans about just shutting up and accepting the fact that Santa should always be portrayed as white? -- "Just because it makes you feel uncomfortable doesn't mean it has to change."

But my point in this thread has been her wild and unfounded claim that Jesus was a white man.

There is precious little evidence to even suggest that could be taken seriously. No serious Biblical scholar will back her up on that point.

And she DID apologize for that outlandish, race-baiting statement.

beenthere Posted - 12/16/2013 3:51:30 PM | show profile | flag this post

I love keeping score. Did you hear the one about the black kid who was told he couldn't be Santa because Santa's white?

I love when the MSM race baits the American public into a frenzy. It's such FUN to take sides. I wonder when they'll debate who is more important, Santa or Jesus?

I have to call my bookie and get the odds of who will win that game, pick up some beer on the way home and hunker down in my barcalounger.

I LOVE politics. Buuuuurrrrp. So MUCH fun to keep score.

cruiser Posted - 12/16/2013 7:08:07 PM | show profile | flag this post

"exactly what Kelly was condemning"

Kelly wasn't "condemning" anything. You're either lying or trying to make this WAY more than a simple erroneous statement.

But that's how you and your left wing fringe buds try to turn nontroversies into scandals.

etaoin shrdlu Posted - 12/17/2013 9:18:15 AM | show profile | flag this post

No, cruzo...

go back and listen to her rant. She was insisting that we don't need black Santas -- she stressed to "the children" that Santa was white. You seem to have missed the whole point of her rant.

Then she went over the top with her claim that Jesus was also white.

cruiser Posted - 12/17/2013 11:00:24 AM | show profile | flag this post

"she stressed to 'the children'..."

No, she emphatically did not. Children don't watch the Kelly File.

You seem to be alone in trying to gin up a scandal where none exists. But then you're alone in trying to insist Karl Pierson was not a Socialist when his classmates and teachers and neighbors say he was. " times, he acted 'weird' and alienated peers with rants about communism and his aggressiveness to win every argument."

And speaking of "aggressiveness to win every argument," doesn't that sound just like etwinkie? Why else would he be the one who has the last post in every thread even though he's been thoroughly spanked?

etaoin shrdlu Posted - 12/17/2013 11:13:14 AM | show profile | flag this post

Wow, cruzo...

your "reading comprehension" has hit an all time low!

Cruzo said: "No, she emphatically did not. Children don't watch the Kelly File."

That's the freakin' joke, cruzo!

Here's Kelly's exact quote:

"For all you kids watching at home, Santa just is white. But this person is maybe just arguing that we should also have a black Santa. But, you know, Santa is what he is, and just so you know, we're just debating this because someone wrote about it, kids."

It was a high point of John Stewart taking her apart the following night, when he said something to the effect of "What kind of kids are sophisticated enough to be watching a news program at 10 pm, but innocent enough to still believe in Santa, but racist enough to be shocked that he isn't white?"

And I'm not alone in "ginning up" a controversy.

Do a Google News Search for "Megyn Kelly Santa" and you come up with nearly a quarter million hits.

That includes plenty of reportage and commentary from right-wing sources including the Daily Caller and other Fox Opinion show hosts -- including Bill O'Reilly.

Forget the fact that Saint Nicholas was a Turk, again, dark-skinned. My complaint was that she insisted Jesus was white -- something no serious biblical scholar would agree to.

I'm quite happy with her on air apology accepting the fact she didn't know what she was talking about when it came to Jesus.

cruiser Posted - 12/17/2013 11:57:08 AM | show profile | flag this post

I don't care what she said

Kids who'd have an interest in Santa Claus don't watch the Kelly File. They're much more into the Grinch or a Charlie Brown Christmas.

No harm, no foul. It's just you trying gin up a scandal involving conservatives.

There's nothing you can say that will change that so there's no need for me to post anything further.

etaoin shrdlu Posted - 12/17/2013 2:24:31 PM | show profile | flag this post

Why don't you just watch it...

Just watch what she said.

It would probably tick you off, too.

If for nothing else, the way it makes conservatives look like clueless, classless, self-centered bozos -- which hurts the image of honest conservatives everywhere.

And thank you for your compliment that I, little ole me, has ginned this into a scandal.

Hell, even the "very powerful Fox News network" (another direct Megyn Kelly quote) is on the defensive with Kelly having to issue an explanation AND a retraction and Bill O'Reilly spending air time to defend her.

I must be something, huh, cruzo, to gin up that much of a scandal!

(sarcasm mode off)

cruiser Posted - 12/17/2013 7:37:30 PM | show profile | flag this post

I knew immediately that etwinkie had no idea

what he was talking usual...but I wanted to see if any of the other usual suspects were any smarter. They weren't.

Jesus may very well have been white...or at least a Caucasian.

The Caucasus Mountains separate Asia from Europe in the region between Turkey and Russia and the Causasian diaspora (meaning the dispersion of people of Caucasian extraction) extends south and east to China, Pakistan and, to some extent, India. It includes much of the Middle East, including territories that have been conquered and reconquered by Arabs, Persians, Mongolians, Romans, Ottomans and others. Because of this, there has -- quite naturally -- been some mixing of bloodlines.

Most early anthropologists recognize three major races: Caucusoid (Caucasian), Negroid and Mongoloid based on skull shape, facial features, hair composition and distribution, etc. The hue of the skin is not typically considered a racial determinant. For example, Caucasians can be very white to dark brown.

The Semitic peoples, which include Jews and Arabs, are generally regarded as belonging to the Caucasoid race.

Therefore Jesus, as a Jew and arising from the Middle East was most likely a Caucasian. The hue of his skin is conjecture.

Santa Claus (Saint Nicholas) was correctly described as originating in Turkey but the first known image of the character popularly known in the US as Santa Claus is generally thought to be that of Thomas Nast in Harper's Illustrated in the early 1860s. He most definitely is depicted as white.

All of what is written here is fact...although some of the content is derived from legend.

etaoin shrdlu Posted - 12/17/2013 8:48:08 PM | show profile | flag this post

Wow, really reaching...

ain't you cruzo.

Let's face it. If Jesus were alive today -- he'd be racially profiled by the TSA -- and guys like you.

cruiser Posted - 12/17/2013 8:58:31 PM | show profile | flag this post

Well, I knew you'd post SOMEthing

so yours would be the last post in the thread. Your ego requires it. Sorry to obviate that. I'll shut up now so you can have the last word.

mpdodgson Posted - 12/17/2013 9:42:41 PM | show profile | flag this post

Desperately wanted to avoid this

But c'mon, this was a spit laugh.

"I don't care what she said"

After spending five days trying to defend what she said, live, on air, now we're told "I don't care what she said"???

I guess we should count our blessings this wasn't something cruise really did care about...the thread could last for eons.

cruiser Posted - 12/17/2013 10:25:03 PM | show profile | flag this post

"Desperately wanted to avoid this"

ROFLMAO!!! If you wanted to avoid it, pal, even a little bit, you could have just pushed back your chair and gotten up from the computer.

No, you desperately wanted to add YOUR devalued two cents.

But tell me...and be which post(s) did I defend what Kelly said?

The fact is I didn't. Not once. I merely emphasized that she was NOT kicked off the air but was suffering from a sore throat and laryngitis. And I corrected etwinkie that kids do not watch the Kelly File.

I'm sadly afraid the reading comprehension of ALL the left wingers on here is grossly deficient.

Grateful Deadline Posted - 12/17/2013 10:48:09 PM | show profile | flag this post

So you STILL presume to know by means of clairvoyance what other posters' political philosophies are?

Grow up.

cruster Posted - 12/18/2013 1:11:11 AM | show profile | flag this post

What cruiser is saying is this

Santa Claus is real.

He lives at the North Pole.

Every December 24th he flies around in a sleigh towed by flying reindeer and hands out toys to white people all over the world

cruiser has stated many times, that Santa is an actual person.

It is easily documented.

cruiser has stated this and backed it up with links.

He also says he has no teeth, lives on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

He has stated all this as fact. Check it out.

etaoin shrdlu Posted - 12/18/2013 9:58:01 AM | show profile | flag this post

You "corrected" me...

What a laugh! I never said kids watch the Kelly File. I pointed out that MEGYAN KELLY thought they did!

Here's her direct quote: "For all you kids watching at home, Santa just is white. But this person is maybe just arguing that we should also have a black Santa. But, you know, Santa is what he is, and just so you know, we're just debating this because someone wrote about it, kids."

Glad to correct you, though.

Now, get your last word in cruzo. You're just dying to!

Psst. Don't tell the pope.......

Last night he placed a statue of a very white baby Jesus at St. Peter's.

I guess he is a fool too, eh, Eta.

Merry Christmas to all!
