Why do young people think their viewers are interested in this? Enough already!
Have a happy life, but keep the personal personal. Not one WZDX-WAAY was served by the most recent on-air proposal. And to frame it as "Breaking News". Seriously? Isn't anyone in charge there with any common sense?
We, as an industry, and as newspeople, can and should do better.

they're in luuuv-ah and what better place to show it than in their little world. It's so cute and adorable.
Now, what would make interesting TV (reality, of course) is reporting their separation/divorce. Let's go to the videotape -- Come-on! The babies crying in the background inside the estranged bride's mother's trailer .... dogs barking outside.
Lots of plastic WalMart bags covering the furniture ...

the main anchor got engaged on the air......a few years later her hubby was arrested and convicted ot defrauding folks out of millions of $$..she lefther job and they've since divorced. Not a good idea.........
