I really don't know where to go with this, but had to share... The pic of Tammy Duckworth, on artificial legs, coming into Congress for the first time--just made me proud. It's not just that she beat out such a Teabagger scumbag like Walsh (Go ahead--someone defend him--I dare you) It's encouraging to see NOT just more women on the Hill; but I did not know this-- "In 1977, the 435-seat U.S. House of Representatives contained 347 veterans (almost 80 percent of that body) while 65 former service members filled the 100-seat U.S. Senate. In 2013, 84 fellow veterans will join Duckworth in the House (19 percent) while the Senate’s cadre of ex-military personnel has dwindled to 18, according the American Legion. “That’s incredible,” said Paul Rieckhoff, founder and executive director of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, a nonpartisan and nonprofit group with more than 200,000 members. “The volunteer military has been great for our military, but maybe it’s not great for our democracy.” MAYBE, in the next Congress, when a "Jobs for Veterand Bill" comes up?? The Party of No won't reject it. Let's hope. |

Hey puzo?!?!? Knock off the "stay classy" crap already. 'Deadbeat Dad Walsh', 'There are Commies in Congress West', and bot hthe 'Rape is gods way of saying he loves you candidates' deserved to lose because they were all IDIOTS. If you consider that a 'partisan attack'--hell, I can live with that. |

"..live with it" hell.. i'd be proud to wear it.. the collective i.q. of congress may go up a few points next term.. with the likes of walsh, allen west, akins and the like gone.. it won't go up much..but anything would be an improvement.. |
