Republicans Actually Have to Take a Class for This
Posted - 12/6/2013 10:42:09 AM | show profile | flag this post
The NRCC wants to eliminate more Todd Akin moments in 2014. So, the National Republican Congressional Committee is actually tutoring candidates on how to talk to women so they don't insult them.
Wow! Shouldn't they have learned that growing up?
Posted - 12/6/2013 10:58:44 AM | show profile | flag this post
Democrat women have a "reality"
that is manufactured by radical left organizations like those funded by George Soros, etc. And their narrative comes directly from the radical left talking points distributed by the Center for American Progress and similar organizations.
Since neither of these are things people naturally encounter growing up it's not surprising Republicans need to learn how to respond to the radical left anger, self-absorption and pseudo-populism.

How interesting that cruiser reduces women to automatons. Oh, well.
Yes, ES, they should have learned it while growing up, and they probably did. As the tea party emerged, it became cool for male candidates to insult and belittle their female opponents, which played very poorly with voters of either gender.
Why they felt that disrespect would make them look smart or powerful is anybody's guess. Men and women GOP voters turned away from them because of it. It happened in my family, too.

What Republicans need to re-learn is the age old double standard that some of us in the media employ.
Their gaffes or misstatements will be taken out of context or used a bat to assault them with.
Grateful, how does your family feel about the insults and belittling that is directed towards Republican women like Sarah Palin and Nikki Haley ?

I'm touched by your interest in my family's opinions, cruiser/quinn.
My family thinks Sarah Palin is vapid and embarrassing. My mom (now deceased) made jokes about her; but she left the Republican party after George W. was elected the first time. My stepdad (lifelong Republican but also now deceased) laughed about her. My brother, who has been a Republican all his voting life, now calls the GOP "the clown party." I flew out for a visit a few weeks ago, and it's still the same as he and my SIL felt at the last presidential election.
What they've written to me and told me is that they feel like the GOP has turned into a circus and abandoned them. They are the same type of Republican as are most Republicans: They do not consider the "tea party" to be Republican.
Nikki Haley is 1,500 miles away from them. They're not keen on South Carolina politics.
FWIW, My brother is a mainstream TV news director who has been in commercial broadcasting for 35 years, has a syndicated radio show and writes a newspaper column. And he's a registered Republican. And a board member of an anti-abortion organization. And a founder of a fundamentalist Christian college. Did I mention that he's a mainstream news media professional?
Rockin' your worldview, baby!
I know you're fond of beating up one-person and one-family examples, so I hope I've given you adequate fodder to go ahead and satisfy that need. Only a fool would think there was any other reason for your request. Have fun!

Cruzo sees women as automatons...
because he's sexist. His "dearie" comments are a good example of that.
And, cruzo, equating sexist comments against women in general -- lines such as "legitimate rape" or the idea the women can "shut it down" if they're raped to prevent pregnancy -- with criticism of politicians comments and views simply because they are women.
In fact, that last view IS a form of sexism -- that a woman can ONLY be criticized on the basis she is a woman. (This is similar to the right's silly claim that the left believes every criticism of Obama is "racist." No one on the left believes that nonsense).

"No one on the left believes that nonsense"
We're acutely aware of that.
But we are sick and tired of the left wing fringe dishonestly invoking the racism label every time a well-deserved criticism is directed toward Obama.
It's become like the cry of "wolf" to impartial observers.

Ooooo Karen Penner/Grateful Deadline, i forgot how much you play the "woe is me" card. I merely point out the hypocrisy of the war on womenese crowd.
Which you and etaoin are perfect examples of.

who cares? libs have to take classes on how to relate to everyday americans-it hasn't helped much. maybe bible lessons with mark pryor will help.

Conservatives are Afraid of Women
Notice how con can't address them as people under any of his screen names?
And cruiser, he's never met a woman he hasn't paid. "It's a business transaction dearie, now get to work!"
Can't blame him, he said in his own words that he has no teeth and he's afraid of their lady parts because "they're magical and demon possessed!!!"
And the GOP wonders why they're losing ground as old voters like cruiser die.

" under any of his screen names?"
what screen names would those be?

Quinn/cruiser -- Grateful here. Haven't heard from Karen in ages. She's back East somewhere, in any case, I think.
You wrote: "Ooooo Karen Penner/Grateful Deadline, i forgot how much you play the "woe is me" card. I merely point out the hypocrisy of the war on womenese crowd. "
So, just as I thought: You weren't interested in my family or its opinions, you were interested in playing games. There's no "woe is me" in anything I posted. You're a cheat, a pot-stirrer and first-class jerk to take advantage of my time, my goodwill and my family in answering your request.
You and your posts aren't worth rotted pigsh*t to me from now on. If you call contemptible behavior "winning," then you've "won" big. Congratulations.

P.S. It's ironic that on this day as we contemplate the passing of an inspiring leader, you're still online playing your same old hateful game.

Why would anyone suggest that you have multiple screen names?
Horror of horrors!
Your thoughts are... so original and thoughterated out so completlified.
Maybe someone hacked my account. And made this terrible false accusation puzo. I mean Quinn, I mean freedomfirst. I mean Mike May. I mean pointless troll.
Thinkerate. Ha ha ha!!!!

And the far right wing dances the obfuscation tango
...around the fact that the Republican party is teaching its own not to say outlandish, misogynistic and stupid things about and to women. That tells a tale that's just freakin' bizarre in 2013.
It really must be tough to be the batshit crazy party that has to teach your own members not to be idiots.

i'm quinn ? quinn is cruzoblacktapesecondcomingpuzonewscredfreedomfirstMike May.

Back on topic...
It's 2013. And we actually have to have a "meeting with top aides of sitting Republicans to teach them what to say — or not to say — on the trail, especially when their boss is running against a woman."
If that's not a 'holy crap on a cracker' revelation...
In the Spring we'll have that 'Why not to call all black candidates that Kenyan guy' seminar, followed up with the 'No, Mr. Candidate, please refrain from calling all Latinos 'wetback spics' meeting.
"Boehner urged his colleagues Thursday in response to this POLITICO story to “be a little more sensitive” when running against women. “Some of our members just aren’t as sensitive as they ought to be,” Boehner said."
Boehner (R-Ohio) said bluntly that “when you look around the Congress, there are a lot more females in the Democrat caucus than there are in the Republican caucus.” WONDER WHY.
Here's my wish. Have cruise, con, and Quint as guest speakers at these meetings. Yea. Don't address the issue(s) you frickin chauvanist pig idiots; babble on about George Soros, Center for American Progress, poor poor picked on Palin, and "Democrat women have a "reality"....Yea. That'll win them over.
And it still mystifies Repubs why they lost the last two times. How's that Romney lanslide workin out for ya?

VTexan, who's going to teach Dems not to say outlandish, misogynistic and stupid things about and to women?
Mpdodgson, what is the old proverb? People who live in glass house shouldn't throw stones?
Before you go calling on us to "address the issue(s)", You should "address the issue(s)" within your own party.
"you frickin chauvanist pig idiots" Name calling says a lot about your maturity.

Grateful, I was interested. Sorry if you feel like i was playing games.
"goodwill" Is something you lack in your postings.
Most posters here use satire and insults to hide their deficiencies. I have a feeling you are quite capable of debating issues within our profession and in the world of politics.
So give it a try.
Posted - 12/7/2013 9:30:06 AM | show profile | flag this post
That was quintessentially stupid, Quintessential
The Democrats don't NEED seminars on how not to say stupid things to and about women.
Oh, I'm sure there are exceptions here-n-there. Humanity cuts a wide swathe and there are odd ones in every bunch.
It turns out though, that your bunch has SO MANY that seminars on how not to be idiots are happening. I'd suggest it's high time you sign up.

"so i'm everyone?"
Oh con, no no no!
You're no one.

"So give it a try"
She'd have to get over her anger first...and I don't ever see that happening.
Posted - 12/7/2013 3:31:54 PM | show profile | flag this post
the REPUBLICAN speaker of the house has to call out..
his OWN caucus on how to communicate with women..
and you're not angered and embarrassed by that public flogging?..
Posted - 12/7/2013 4:35:26 PM | show profile | flag this post
i'm no one? cruster, your obsession with my every post tells me differ.
orthicon, perhaps looking up the definition of being called out will help. unless you don't mind embarrassing yourself.
go ahead vtex, downplay. those michelle malkin/sarah palin rape/murder jokes are hee-larious!!!!
Posted - 12/7/2013 5:07:51 PM | show profile | flag this post
i know very well the definition of "called out"..
that's exactly what Boehner did to his fellow republicans..
