President Obama has invited Republicans to speak during at least two of the three nights of the Democratic National Convention.

Looks like a powerful show set to appeal to independents while Romney continues to pander to the GOP fringe-base at the RNC.

Even better move...

not that Romney has tapped Paul Ryan as a running mate.

Ryan's nomination will energize Democrats -- he was the DNC's favorite pick for Romney. But it also scares independents who see Ryan and his plans for Medicare as extreme.

Offering up traditional Republicans - referred to as RINOs or "fake Republicans" -- at the Democratic National Convention will show how far out of step the GOP has become with the average American.
