I've been analyzing technical products and services for nearly twenty years. I've covered topics ranging from enterprise level systems to small business, and even to consumer products and gadgets. If it plugs in (or charges up), I'm interested in it, and have probably researched it, or its predecessor at one time. I've written hundreds of articles and columns published in print and online.
As a CIO for 15 years, I've not only had to plan, purchase, and implement technology systems, I've had to explain them to the companies I worked for, and the audience I wrote for. I authored the book Multisite Systems Integration (John Wiley & Sons, Inc.) describing methodologies for integrating distributed networks, based on one of the projects I developed for a health care provider. I've created training manuals and presented the classes. And I've interviewed hundreds of people on subjects ranging from resort management to technology marketing.

Describe your dream assignment
Finding new information for something I've always wanted to know more about.
What's the best job you've ever had?
My best job is the one I'm living now. I learn new topics, meet new people, and am challenged every day.
What do you wish you'd learned sooner?
Video production. I'm entirely enjoying producing short video segments for customers, and becoming very proficient at Adobe Premiere Pro.
What's your idea of a perfect Monday morning?
Up at 6am and answering email, sending requests for information, and delivering the assignment that's due next Wednesday.
In ten years, I want to be:
Writing and traveling.
