This was extraordinary -- Democrats using the letter of Senate Rules to help Sen Mitch McConnell (R-KY) round up the votes to prevent a market panic. All because Ted Cruz was willing to wreck the economy last week to build support within the TEA Party.

well if dana milbank says it's a ego trip, it must be a ego trip.

yeah, "liberals existing in a purely black or white political mindset" is just a stereotype.

As anyone here knows...

I have no love for McConnell -- but I'll give him credit for placing his country above his re-election bid. Same for the other Republicans who voted to keep the markets from crashing last week.

Placing his country above (whatever)???

Not bloody likely. Establishment Republicans are more incensed by the conservative wing...especially those who won't wink at or sign on to the cushy arrangements the establishment has with certain businesses and donors...than they are with Democrats.

The reason they're not clamping down on the IRS is because the establishment wants it to harass tea party movement members and deny them tax-exempt status.

That way they can effect political assassinations while not getting their fingerprints on anything...a lesson obviously learned from left wingers.

So, cruzo...

are you saying that we'd be better off with a market crash?

If so, why?

*** The reason they're not clamping down on the IRS is because the establishment wants it to harass tea party movement members and deny them tax-exempt status.**

Since the "tea party" isn't a political party, then trying to claim IRS tax exemption for it is rather impossible.

I marvel at

the abject stupidity of left wing responses to my posts.

They may think they're being cute or clever but the esoterica of their points renders them so far down in the noise it's as though nothing at all was said.

cruiztwit..if, for once in your useless life, you actually..

answered questions posed to you as a result of your diatribes, there might be less opprobrium directed your way..

but you seem unable to do so, apparently from lack of facts to support your positions..

Grateful...

Tax-exempt status is not limited to political parties.

You people don't ask questions

All you people post is snide cracks, ad hominem and personal attacks...such as the one you just posted.

orthicon Posted - 2/19/2014 1:04:03 PM | show profile | flag this post

"are you saying we'd be better off with a market crash?."

"..if so, why?":..

reads like a question to me..

answer it..

etaoin shrdlu Posted - 2/19/2014 2:10:20 PM | show profile | flag this post

No, cruzo...

I asked you a question.

Your post implied that a market crash would be good for the country -- by being good for Ted Cruz's efforts to woo his base.

Care to explain why you think McConnell was wrong to lead the effort to prevent a market crash?

I'm just surprised you don't think Cruz won because the vote was a simple majority, instead of a two-thirds vote! </sarcasm>

not "cute or clever"'-just rejects from liberal message boards pretenderating to be journolists.

their inability to debate, lack of knowledge and name calling is a dead giveaway.

shame,really.

Still waiting on an answer, cruzo...

or are you going to hide behind con's butchered English to avoid answering?

mpdodgson Posted - 2/19/2014 8:12:13 PM | show profile | flag this post

"pretenderating"??

We have to put up with more of con's word salad under another name??

Question to Mediabistro: I understand the incredible vile depths one has to sink to to get banned here...but seriously...Is it too much to ask that every poster only gets one screen personality??

Is that technically not possible??

con Posted - 2/19/2014 8:31:31 PM | show profile | flag this post

calling for banneration because i changed my name?

my knowledge of facts, my intellect and articulate style dazzles some, wows others. i realize some are intimidated and feel inferior.

so they lash out at me. they want be banned.

i will try to appease/help you whenever i can. view me as a teachable moment. no reason to get angry or feel inferior.

back on the ot.....

this wasn't a ego trip. this was a politician doing what he promised voters he would do. bring good sense and responsibility to washington.

not much..

not much at all..

proudliberal Posted - 2/23/2014 9:19:47 PM | show profile | flag this post

Hey nitwits...

The IRS "scandal" is a bunch of crap. They investigated conservative and liberal groups to make sure they qualified for the tax exempt status they were seeking. Sounds legit to me. In fact, that is kind of their job. Come back when you find a real scandal.
