So Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) spent all night reading Dr. Seuss and ranting about who cares what in a fake filibuster?

Why?

His stunt did nothing to delay or derail the Senate's efforts to strip the CR of it's silly "defund Obamacare" clause.

Apparently, his "manhood" was hurt when he was compared to State Sen. Wendy Davis (D-TX) and came up seriously lacking. This was some stunt to prove he's a "man."

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/09/19/house-republican-leadership-aide-wendy-davis-has-more-balls-than-ted-cruz/

Well, guess what, Sen. Cruz -- SHE actually accomplished her mission with a real filibuster. Cruz still can't live up to her model.

Oh, and she spoke for 10 hours without a break. Cruz had to be relieved by Mike Lee after just 60 minutes on his feet.

She still has more balls than little boy Cruz.

abortion barbie "accomplished her mission" ? yes, abortion barbie made her self look petty. yes, she got her few hours of fame and liberal media worship, the bill passed. she will never be governor.

she will at least have her own line of dolls and abortion accessories.

the anonymous republican aide is the one lacking balls. if you're going to trash someone, least have the onions to tell us your name.

"little boy Cruz."? racist much?

cruz accomplished his mission. the silliness and hate coming form the left tells us so.

When the left wing cannot diminish the act

they try with all their might to denigrate the actor...usually unsuccessfully, as in etwinkie's case.

It is the language of sour grapes.

Cruz' filibuster is far from unprecedented

In 1981, Wisconsin Democrat Senator William Proxmire filibustered the senate for more than sixteen hours in an effort to prevent a debt ceiling increase.

But...as one might expect...left wingers are lying about Cruz' effort and ignoring the widely-documented fact of Proxmire's filibuster.

Cruz didn't even understand...

the moral of the story in "Green Eggs and Ham."

Loved this part of Cruz's kamikazee mission.

He read "Green Eggs and Ham" -- saying it was his favorite book as a kid.

Someone today was pointing out that you could consider Sam I Am to be Uncle Sam. The Green Eggs and Ham to be Obamacare.

And in the end, after trying it, turns out the green eggs and ham were pretty good after all.

Cruz. What a complete failure.

Poor, poor, cruzo...

having only folks like Ted Cruz to lead his dying party.

What did Cruz accomplish? He didn't stop any vote. The vote was already scheduled, so he didn't delay it. He just spent the whole night talking about himself. It was a perfect example of self-love, talking about Cruz, Cruz, Cruz all the time.

Ted Cruz talked about Ted Cruz's favorite children's book.

Ted Cruz talked about Ted Cruz's love of White Castle.

Ted Cruz talked about Ted Cruz's love of Duck Dynasty.

And only THREE other Republicans showed up to help him. Can't understand why, with all that compelling information about Ted Cruz!

http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/dana-milbank-ted-cruz-is-filibusted/2013/09/24/d358168a-2551-11e3-b75d-5b7f66349852_story.html

This was all just a cheap stunt for Ted Cruz to talk about Ted Cruz to the TEA drinking fringe of the party -- to help with Ted Cruz's ego-boosting presidential bid.

Please, please, please nominate this loser for President in 2016, Republicans! It will be a cake walk for President Hillary Clinton's election!

Heck, Jesse Jackson, Jr. could beat this clown from prison!

Green Eggs and Support for Obamacare

Ted Cruz read from a revamped version of Green Eggs and Ham replacing the eggs and ham with Obamacare and how "he does not like it."

As we know, the main character in Green Eggs and Ham ends up loving them at the end of the book.

So Ted Cruz will learn to love Obamacare too?

Hmmm.....?

etwinkie and his left wing brethren

speak the language of sour grapes. No matter how they try to slice it, there is NOTHING the radical left can do to offset this embarrassing defeat. They are reduced to personal attacks and ad hominem.

cruster Posted - 9/25/2013 2:25:21 PM | show profile | flag this post

" this embarrassing defeat."

Yes cruiser.

With the GOP senate and house leadership saying there is no way Obamacare will be de-funded, nor are they willing to shut down the government, this is a huge defeat for Obama.

Just like getting Syria to agree to hand over chemical weapons without military strikes was a huge defeat. Huge!

You'd think Obama would learn a lesson after his crushing defeat during the Romney landslide last year.

Indubitably egregious.

So tell us, dear cruzo...

what exactly did All Hat and No Cattle Cruz actually accomplish with his empty stunt?

Care to explain how the country is better now that "Green Eggs and Ham" and a description of Ted Cruz's father's underwear has been entered into the Congressional Record?

That's all that came out of his little stunt.

He's losing the vote today.

etaoin shrdlu Posted - 9/25/2013 2:55:30 PM | show profile | flag this post

Let me correct that last post...

He's LOST the vote today.

In fact, Cruz even voted FOR the bill he claims to have filibustered! It passed 100-0!

So, in the end, cruzo, your latest hero, Ted Cruz, couldn't even convince himself to vote against the bill!

It's now on it's way to having the Obamacare defunding clause stripped and sent back to the House later this week.

Heckuva job, Teddy!

But at least America knows Ted Cruz likes pancakes!

etaoin, check your facts

The Senate voted unanimously Wednesday to advance House-passed legislation to defund ObamaCare and keep the government open beyond September.

Your posts as neilsen box are so witty and thoughtful.

Reminds me of your posts on the old Sandbox. So many names, so may posts.

It was a shame though. The scandal and all.

The Best insults of Cruz this week

Were all from Republicans.

"Some people came here to govern and make things better for their constituents. Ted Cruz came here to throw bombs and fundraise off of attacks on fellow Republicans. He's a joke, plain and simple."
— Senior House GOP aide
"It is disappointing to see that Wendy Davis has more balls than Ted Cruz." — Senior GOP leadership aide
"Cruz officially jumped the shark this week" — GOP operative
"For weeks, House Republicans have said the prospects of passing a defund bill in the Senate are grim, and Senators Lee, Cruz, and Rubio have responded by saying nothing is impossible if we fight hard enough. Now they are getting exactly what they asked for, and they issue a press release conceding defeat and refusing to join the fight they demanded in every TV appearance. It's time they put their money where their mouths are, and do something other than talk."
— House GOP leadership aide (National Review)
"Cruz keeps raising conservatives' hopes, and then, when we give him what he wants, he doesn't have a plan to follow through.... He's an amateur." — GOP aide (National Review)
"Cruz is the leader of a secret cabal of leftists that are seeking control of the conservative movement.... Their aim is to force the party to take on suicidal missions to destroy the movement from within." — Senior House Republican leadership source
"Nancy Pelosi is more well-liked around here."
— GOP aide (National Review)

And not everone was anonymous. Sen Bob Corker: "I didn’t go to Harvard or Princeton, but I can count -- the defunding box canyon is a tactic that will fail and weaken our position"
And Rep Peter King: " "We as House Republicans should stop letting Ted Cruz set our agenda for us. If he can deliver on this fine. If he can't, then he should keep quiet from now on and we shouldn't listen to him.... Either put up or shut up."

Yea. It's another Dem/Lib plot.

Karen...

If you were addressing me I posted a direct quote from and a link to the article from the Hill. Hard to call me wrong unless you are saying they were wrong as well. Of course you would not know that if you did not bother to read the link, but then what would that make you?

etaoin shrdlu Posted - 9/26/2013 10:37:56 AM | show profile | flag this post

Yes, blacked....

Your are correct about the bill when you said:

"The Senate voted unanimously Wednesday to advance House-passed legislation to defund ObamaCare and keep the government open beyond September."

But THAT WAS the bill that Ted Cruz was fake filibustering.

A real filibuster is designed to block a vote on a bill. This was the bill that was up for a vote when Cruz scheduled his rant.

Cruz's weird act was supposed to keep that bill from EVER coming to the Senate floor. If the Senate never considered the bill, and it could not come to a vote, then it would force a government shutdown.

That was what Cruz was supposedly doing -- even though the vote was scheduled and his long-winded, ego-boosting act of self-love was already limited by Senate rules.

As it turns out, Cruz was unable to even convince himself to vote against the bill. The vote was a unanimous 100-0 in favor of bringing it to the floor.

blackedtaped Posted - 9/26/2013 1:01:07 PM | show profile | flag this post

etaoin, you are better than this

At least I like to think you are. Here is a pretty good article explaining exactly what happened. Take the time to read it. It will clear it up for you. Cruz was not trying to stop voting on the bill but was trying to prevent Harry Reid's efforts to add an amendment stripping the defunding of Obama care from the House Bill.

cruiser Posted - 9/26/2013 1:05:51 PM | show profile | flag this post

Now he's going to start slowly altering his assertion

so he can convince himself...and try to convince others...he's been "right" all along. Typical.

And now he'll throw up a vigorous, long-winded and excuse-filled defense that is also laced with ad hominem.

3, 2. 1...

exposing the left to facts? in their world-

cruz is a complete failure while abortion barbie has balls made of fine brass. does the left know what happens in stormy weather?

most americans are with cruz in his efforts to defund/repeal obamacare. most americans are against abortion barbie.

with the liberal media it is the opposite.

is this what drives hate and angry on the left? is this what drives the insanity that is etaoin shrdlu ?

is it fear?

who knows.......
