Cat Shampoo Time
And I was thinking of binge watching some Boardwalk Empire.
Other than that, not much.

What, the Eagles playing the 'Skins?
I'm resigned to looking toward next season.

But that's not important, what it's only three countries jointly testing the North American power grid.
Run completely by PRIVATE business. An entire continent's power grid. NERC.
But it's not important. Go shampoo your cat and watch your football game.
As you were. Doesn't surprise me no one here knows about it.

And then there is this:
Chinese soldiers training with U.S. troops in Hawaii
Chinese troops are taking part in disaster relief exercises in Hawaii today, in what China's state media billed as the first time the country's soldiers have drilled on U.S. territory.
People's Liberation Army soldiers are taking part in humanitarian assistance drills in Hawaii until Thursday with thier U.S. counterparts, simulating relief operations after an earthquake hits a third country, according to a report on the website of the Communist Party's People's Daily newspaper.
Col. Bill Florig, chief of civil military operations for U.S. Army Pacific, said in announcing the exercises last month that the event is the largest between the United States and China armies.
Any peep from MSM? NYT? WaPo? HuffPo? FOX? Silence.
Anyone here heard about this? Chinese soldiers training on U.S. soil? Of course not. Not important. Not newsworthy.
BTW, Love how the writer has to source the Communist Party's People's Daily newspaper because no one in the U.S. is talking about it.
But, as you were. Add some conditioner too.

From the NYTimes:
Or from the more, er, fringe elements:
Anyone wonder which sources beenthere was reading?
Oh and on a note to etaion, don't give up so soon on either team. The NFC east is still wide open, Dallas is a long way from clinching anything. If you placed half as much faith in your quarterback as you do in the President you would be buying tickets for the Super Bowl.

And for even more "fun"
Search "Chinese troops in US" on Google. Seems there have been Chinese troops stationed on the US/Mexico border for years now, just waiting for the "go" command.

Danish troops with black helicopters there to protect our borders against the yellow peril, right?..

More lies from Democrats and President Obama?
What can top this?
“No matter how we reform health care, I intend to keep this promise: If you like your doctor, you’ll be able to keep your doctor; if you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan.”
More falling poll numbers for President Obama?

Good lord, beenthere....
I cover news of these joint military exercises all the time. This one will feature a total of 60 Chinese -- that includes all soldiers AND observers.
These exercises are an important diplomatic tool to further relations between the U.S. and other countries. The U.S. actually cancelled naval exercises with China a couple of years back to protest Chinese policies.
Most coverage comes when the exercises are announced -- this one was waaaaay back. But here's more "MSM" (I prefer "real news") coverage:
ABC News: http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/china-us-armies-begin-joint-disaster-exercise-20855907
Miami Herald: http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/11/11/3746453/china-us-armies-to-begin-joint.html
And maybe you missed this from back in the summer when the U.S. and Chinese navies held joint exercises: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-202_162-57599470/
That was from CBS.
BTW, China's been invited to next year's RIMPAC exercise. So don't get your knickers in a knot when THAT sneaks up on you -- after the rest of the world knew it was coming for two years!
International exercises -- outside of NATO and RIMPAC and other major allied exercises -- tend to involve just a handful of people or a relatively small number of ships or other equipment. Many are tabletop exercises. The main purpose is to find ways to work together in a particular situation, then take that experience back to train others, who train others, etc.
A disaster response exercise between the U.S and China makes excellent sense in light of the Philippines typhoon response. And it has made a WHOLE lot of sense ever since the Haiti earthquake response where the U.S and China were the biggest responders -- and had no way to coordinate efforts or logistics.
Oh, and you completely missed the fact that the U.S. Air Force and air forces from eight other countries are in Brazil this week for CRUZEX 2013. What nefarious plot are they hatching down there, beenthere? Have YOU ever read "The Boys from Brazil?" Makes you think? Hell, it scares the bejebus out of cruzo!

Couple more things...
This is Grid Ex TWO.
What was the big, evil conspiracy that broke out of the LAST exercise back in 2011?
And how would having 60 Chinese soldiers on a Marine base in Hawaii be a factor in it?
Yes, the power grid is vunerable. Yes. It's made up of more than a hundred private companies.
HELL YES, they SHOULD be training with federal, state and local agencies to figure out what to do if the grid fails.
Are you honestly saying you'd rather they all be caught flat footed in a national disaster and be unable to turn the lights back on?

Are the lights still on?

Power's still on...
those 60 Chinese soldiers training in Hawaii didn't take over the country.
And Grid Ex II is over and done.
Another conspiracy theory shot all to pieces.
