Where is Obama's "balanced" approach???
Posted - 1/1/2013 11:58:40 AM | show profile | flag this post
Once again, Obama and the Democrats have screwed over the nation. The deal rammed through by the White House and senate Democrats calls for $41 in new taxes for every paltry $1...that's ONE DOLLAR...in spending cuts.
Obama kicked the can down the road...again...and kicked the GOP in the nuts.

Posting the same thing twice
Just shows (again) you've never read a Civics book.

WTF are you talking about???
You obviously don't have anything meaningful to contribute to the discussion. And that's why you roll out the personal attacks.
And you DAMN sure don't understand the impact of Obama's "balanced" approach...the one that extracts $41 in new taxes for every $1...that's ONE DOLLAR...in spending cuts. That AIN'T balanced, pal. Not even close. And he's even reneged on his own proposals.
Obama is the most dishonest, spendthrifty president in my memory.
When the country is borrowing $0.43 of every dollar it spends, tax increases DAMN sure are not going to even make a small dent in out $16 TRILLION debt...which is projected to reach $22 TRILLION by the end of Obama's presidency.

But Obama is secure in the knowledge
that the vast majority of his constituents don't have a clue about how much a trillion dollars really is. And that, apparently, includes the Obama water carriers on here.
I posted this the other day but I feel the need to repeat it:
A person earning $50,000 per year MIGHT earn one million dollars over twenty ears of his working life.
But in order to earn one BILLION, he'd have to work for 20,000 years and a TRILLION would take him 20 MILLION years.
That should begin to open the tightly shut eyes of Democrats as to just how far in the hole we are...and why we'll NEVER get out by only taxing "millionaires and billionaires." Even they would have forfeit ALL of their incomes for thousands of years to pay off Obama's reckless spending.
What we need...more than anything...is deep spending cuts...WAY more than $1 for every $41 in new taxes.

The tax increases on the wealthiest Americans will only raise $620 billion a year ... In this bad economy.
I mean it's only half of the yearly deficit.
Who needs it?
Never mind the wealthiest American are playing their lowest taxes in 80 years. And that the past 20 years have seen the greatest wealth redistribution in American history ... From working and middle class to the wealthy.
Don't touch corporate welfare, the billions and billion of direct subsidies to profitable corporations. Don't close the loopholes. And let's give more money to Defese, the most inefficient enterprise in the US, even though the Pentagon doesn't want the $. (It'll probably go to for profit contractors any way...)
Cons would much rather the wealthy not pay at all and let the middle class shoulder even more debt ... the elderly should have their social security and medicare axed. GIs can kiss college goodbye ... Wounded warriors can get their treatment from emergency wards.
Once upon a time they used to be called citizens
Now, according to the GOP, they are all leeches.

cruise? Would you PLEASE
Try to keep up. babble babble I hate Obama babble babble "Obama is the most dishonest, spendthrifty president in my memory"...
The SENATE voted for this. Get that thru your pointed little head. Now the House acts. Then the president signs it. if you're so pissed off (and you always are) Start writing letters to the Senators from both parties.
And you make it sound like BANG. Higher taxes. That's all there is. In reality, this was first small step--"Although the Senate agreed at the last minute to avert broader tax increases, the very idea of a “deadline” has lost some of its meaning since each budget deal seems to be merely a prelude to another fixed date when some critically important action must be taken – next up: Congress will have to decide what to do about the "sequester" spending cuts which will come up again in February, as well as decide in March on whether to increase the federal borrowing limit." (NBC)
And stop lecturing us about how big a "Trillion" is. We know. Bush left office with trillions in debt. But that was Obama's fault. (or Jimmy Carters, depends on the day).
One thing at a time. Compromise on tax hikes (which Obama did, from $250M to $450M) Then compromise on spending cuts and the debt limit. It's called governing.

"merely a prelude to another fixed date when
some critically important action must be taken"
Exactly, pal. And now comes word that Obama...in addition to the "victory" he's declaring...is trying to tie ADDITIONAL new taxes to any spending reductions. His "balanced approach" is becoming more obviously UNbalanced and tilted toward his socialistic/populistic agenda.
He's trying to destroy the free market underpinnings of our country...which is not too surprising, given the role models and mentors he chose in college and beyond.

Must really suck
to be you. So hate filled. Obama's "mentors"?? Good Grief.

Aw, shaddup already! It's a holiday, boys -- not a day for what you're doing here. Go make somebody's day a little better. Go do something good.

"Must really suck to be you"
This turd obviously doesn't have a cogent response to Obama's greed and narcissism so he tries personal attacks. Typical.

All this time cruiser insists he's above "ad hominem"
And yet, the epithet "turd" is used so sophisticatedly and loquaciously. Such subtle and intelligent use of the English language, hoss.
(like that "other" guy noozvet, he doesn't quite understand the term "ad hominem" anyways..)

is just upset that the country didn't go off the fiscal cliff and the economy isn't wrecked.
He's been pushing for failure for so long, he's lost sight of what's good for the country.
It's become automatic.
An 89-9 vote is bipartisanship, pure and simple.

STILL no balanced approach
$41 in new taxes vs. $1...that's ONE DOLLAR...in cuts. And Obama isn't done. Now he wants to close "tax loopholes"...but ONLY on the rich. And he doesn't want to hear about spending reductions...and that's despite the fact that even the most radical leftists on here agree that spending needs to be cut.
This is the worst president this country has ever seen. No question about that.

Why are you here?
No contact with the Mother Ship lately?? Can't reach Area 51 on the ham radio? MIB doesn't come on for another hour??
Jeez. "STILL no balanced approach" "And Obama isn't done"
Read something for chrissakes not printed by Marvel. Watch something other than Fox.
They're not done yet. Not even near done. First, they had to deal with the tax situation, get that squared away. Then they deal with the Budget Cuts. Then they deal with the Debt Ceiling. And by "They" I mean Congress first, then the president signs it.
Do we have to have a Civics lesson every single friggin day?? Republicans in the Senate and the House vote for something...but Yea yea yea we know. Got it. That's the presidents fault. Worst ever. You hate the guy and that's pretty much your reason for living at this point.

Obama is getting us back to...
It's something the GOP under George W. Bush threw out the window with the Bush Tax Cuts -- while increasing spending for two wars, a whole new cabinet department and his flawed Medicare Prescription Plan.
Yes, we MUST raise taxes to lower the deficit. And it looks like Republicans in the Senate understand that, since they voted with Democrats 89-9 for the agreement.
Posted - 1/3/2013 11:57:07 AM | show profile | flag this post
As always, trying to change the subject
because you cannot contradict the truth of what I posted.
Obama is not done. After screwing the American public with $41 in new tax increases to $1...that's ONE DOLLAR...in spending cuts, he says he's not done. Now he wants to close tax loopholes...but ONLY on the rich. And he said he doesn't want to hear about spending cuts.
Of course it was Obama who massively INCREASED spending by permitting millions to go on welfare, disability and food stamps...that was his pandering for votes prior to the election.
This is ANYTHING but balanced.
I hate what he's done, what he intends to do and what he stands for. But I don't hate the person. I pity him. He's going to go down in history as the worst president ever.

"Yes, we MUST raise taxes to lower the deficit"
That's Democrat bullsh*t. If we confiscated EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR that "millionaires and billionaires" earn each year, it'll run the government for less than 140 days.
That's NOT lowering the deficit...it's punishing success. The way to lower the deficit is to STOP deficit spending. Currently the US has to borrow 43 cents of every dollar it spends because lawmakers...principally Democrats AND THE PRESIDENT...cannot or will not restrain themselves and balance the budget.
American families have to live within their means...meaning they cannot spend more than they earn...and the government MUST discipline itself to do the same.

"Obama is getting us back to...
becoming the biggest spending post wwii president and trillion dollar deficts every year is hardly getting us back to fiscal responsibility.
obama's grand bargain adds to the deficit.
Posted - 1/3/2013 1:12:35 PM | show profile | flag this post
the math just isn't there to address the deficit without raising taxes. It cannot be done with spending cuts alone.

One more time
"Obama is not done." Quite true. First was the tax package, next comes the fight over budget cuts. Try to keep up. "After screwing the American public with $41 in new tax increases" That was CONGRESS. Both Parties. Try to keep up. For someone who prides himself on being an expert on the 2nd Amendment, you sure have a hard time with this whole 'Seperation of Powers' thing.
"Currently the US has to borrow 43 cents of every dollar it spends" You keep trotting that one out--Even though it was 40 cents under Bush--and he kept trillions off the books--but that three cent jump is MASSIVE donchaknow.
We need both tax increases and budget cutting. When the breadwinner of a family loses their job, they don't react by paying off all their household debts. That's for later. First priority is to get back on your feet, and even spend a few bucks getting a new job. You don't pay off the car and the mortgage. Duh.
"American families have to live within their means...meaning they cannot spend more than they earn..." Another piece of traditional GOP bullshit. How many lower and middle class families out there OWN everything they have (including the house and the car)? No credit cards? No college debt?? Not everyone has Dad's trust fund to dip into to make ends meet. And when an emergency hits (a fire at your home, or a catastrophic illness---or 9/11 or a mortgage meltdown for a country--so much for your "household budget". It's an absurd comparison.

As if any more proof were needed...
(I'm quoting from a printed New York Times article so I have no link)
...Obama said, "I will not have another debate with this congress over whether or not they should pay the bills"...this time in connection with Obama's desire that he be in sole charge of the nation's debt limit.
Obama just doesn't "get it." He is not...and cannot function as...a dictator. He cannot just order that things get done his way.
There is a phrase (I forgot where it originated but it succinctly describes the function of the government) that goes, "The president proposes but the congress disposes." That means, of course, that congress must agree to...and, in fact, originate...any spending commitment made by the US. The president's sole function is to sign or veto it.
And Speaker Boehner is tired of being lied to and burned by Obama and has vowed that he's done with private, face-to-face negotiatios with the president. Boenher says he will go back to the normal legislative process, which of course is the house authors spending bills which then go to the senate for approval or conference. After reconciliation and approval by both chambers the measure then goes to the president for signature or veto.
This sets up an acrimonious battle in the coming weeks over raising the nation's debt limit. Obama wants no restrictions whatever on his ability to pile on additional government debt and the GOP wants any increase tied to real spending reductions.
This is a battle of wills in which the house MUST prevail. The integrity of the union is at stake...along with the financial futures of our children and grandchildren.

"As if any more proof were needed..."
That you're such a tool....You wrote; "...Obama said, "I will not have another debate with this congress over whether or not they should pay the bills"...this time in connection with Obama's desire that he be in sole charge of the nation's debt limit.
Obama just doesn't "get it." He is not...and cannot function as...a dictator. He cannot just order that things get done his way."
WELL. That's NOT what he said was it?? The Debt Ceiling deals with money the CONGRESS ALREADY SPENT. And he was clear on that, IF you read the whole sentence: "“I will not have another debate with this Congress over whether or not they should pay the bills that they’ve already racked up through the laws that they passed,” Well that's a whole different then isn't it??
Don't even try to defend Boehner. when the Speaker of the House says he's "done" with talking to the president of the United States, and tells the Senate Majority Leader to go f*ck himself--This isn't leadership, this is a spoiled weeping drunk in action.
"raising the nation's debt limit. Obama wants no restrictions whatever on his ability to pile on additional government debt" YOU REALLY have no clue how government works do you??
"and the GOP wants any increase tied to real spending reductions." Everyone does. get a clue. try to keep up.

The last time...
the GOP TEA Partiers blocked the debt limit, we saw the U.S. bond rating downgraded.
That was the GOP's fault. If it happens again, it will AGAIN be the GOP's fault.
The Republican Party is trying to rule by way of chaos in the House of Representatives -- and the American people are fed up with it.
Keep pushing for these failed GOP policies and strategies, cruzo. People like you are the best friends Democrats have for the 2014 elections!

No, "everyone" doesn't. Obama doesn't...and dumb-o-crats like you will go along with him.

"TEA Partiers blocked the debt limit,

Are you really that stupid??? I have a very hard time believing that. But I DO believe you're a loyal water carrier for Obama, regardless of the facts.
