Why voter IDs ARE necessary
Posted - 2/9/2013 10:30:37 AM | show profile | flag this post
I will acknowledge right up front that 19 cases of voter fraud are below the noise. But how many more are lurking under the surface? None of us...and I mean NONE of us, especially etwinkie and dogson*...have any way of knowing.
A poll worker in Ohio is openly bragging that both she and her granddaughter voted for Obama twice during the November election cycle. A total of 19 cases of voter fraud are being investigated by officials in Hamilton County, OH.
* I singled them out because both were so adamant during the campaign that voter fraud was a non-issue...but is it???

"None of us...and I mean NONE of us"
*...have any way of knowing" how many vote fraud cases there are out there??
Wasn't this a story about someone getting caught???
Besides; tell me exactly how owning a photo ID card prevents someone from mailing in a ballot??
I have no problem with an ID crad as long as it is absolutely free and incredibly easy to get.

I read the link within the link.
It makes no mention of "bragging." It does tell the story of an apparently troubled poll worker. Not an organized conspiracy.
In discussing voter ID cards, consider that we also had people who were denied voter registration even though they were eligible.

Brave cruiser is Right
This hero points out that 19 cases of voter fraud must cause us to assume there are millions more we don't know about.
This seems utterly stupid on its face, but this patriot is not afraid to look stupid in the name of liberty, even as he suggests that some should not enjoy that liberty.
Since his days as noozvet, hero cruiser has never shied away from looking stupid.

well, sure we did, grateful..but they were democrats..
and thus less than people in his worldview..
had they been republicans, we'd never hear the end of it..

This report tells a story neither of the respondents wants to acknowledge so they try to change the subject or obfuscate it with factoids that only tangentially bear on the issue...if at all.
One FACT is this Ohio poll worker admits to voting twice for Obama in the Novermber election and said her granddaughter did the same.
Another FACT is that Hamilton County officials are investigating 19 cases of suspected voter fraud.
Another FACT is nobody knows how many incidents of voter fraud have gone undetected.

Again, please explain to me
HOW a foto ID card prevents someone from mailing in an absentee ballot. How the mailbox magically knows the sender had an ID or not.
You labled the thread "Why voter IDs ARE necessary". How does this story validate your premise??
Again, I have NO problem with voter IDS. We have PLENTY of time for averyone to one before the next Presidential election. As long as they're free and easy to get. But that mad dash to dienfranchise potential Obama voters right before Election Day was absurd. That's why the Judges here in PA threw them out. And having the State House Majority Leader quip with pride:
"Voter ID, which is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania, done.” Yea. That about says it all.

"..19 cases of voter fraud still being investigated.."
well, simple math tells me that, unless hamilton county authorities..or anone else..can come up with almost 5 million MORE cases, and prove them all...
mitt romney STILL won't be moving into the white house..
i frankly think our resident super troll just keeps these old topics stockpiled and cued up..so that, when one effort fails, he can just rotate to the next discredited chestnut and try again..
you gotta give him props for persistence..
not for intelligence..but he certainlty perseveres..

You can't wish this issue away
And I know you'd like to because it seems that Democrats are the only ones getting caught at it.

First -- Voter ID laws would NOT have prevented any of the 19 cases under investigation. If you disagree, I'd love to hear how Voter ID would have prevented these case.
Second -- The cases of fraud were caught and all 19 people suspected are under investigation. They face stiff penalties if convicted.
Third -- 19 votes out of 126 million votes cast is not going to alter the effects of the past election. Further, 19 votes would not have affected 103,000 vote margin of victory for Obama in Ohio's popular vote.
Fourth -- Republicans AND Democrats have BOTH been investigated for mutiple voting offenses like this at the same rate. The double voting cancels one another out.
Fifth -- 19 is a much smaller number than 200,000 -- which is the number of voters who say they dropped out of lines to vote in Florida because the several hours of waiting made them decide not to vote.

so I came up with an extra point.
Blame the Spanish Inquisition!
Posted - 2/11/2013 11:05:20 AM | show profile | flag this post
What an idiot
His "Spanish inquisition" point was probably the most pertinent. The rest were totally imaginative bullsh*t...the kind of stuff he posts when trying...unsuccessfully...to refute what I've said.

Voter ID laws...
Are simply a way for cons to keep democratic party voters, many of whom do not have personal IDs from voting. Period.

What an idiot
Stop being an idiot.
That's the job of true hero patriots, like brave cruiser.
He's willing to be an idiot for liberty and has been since he was noozvet back in the Sandbox.
Like Ben Franklin without a brain.

So again, I ask,
The title of the thread was "Why voter IDs ARE necessary"
Tell me exactly how owning a photo ID card prevents someone from mailing in a ballot?? I have yet to see an answer to that. How the mailbox magically knows the sender had an ID or not??
And if all these (tiny fractions) of the actual electorate were CAUGHT....How does that demand more anti-vote fraud laws?? Isn't that like saying we should outlaw bank robbery because there are bank robbers out there who get caught all the time??
This is one of those areas I really wish conservatives would make up their minds....They want LESS Regulation!!, FEWER Laws!!! STOP intruding in my personal life!!! On everything from the environment to banking to gun control to school prayer....
BUT we need Government mandated photo ID cards. See, it's the Kenyan Obama Apocalypse when we want people to get health insurance, but it's okay if we demand everyone 'have their papers' on them...and oh yea, State ordered, mandated transvaginal rape is okay. It's for your own good donchaknow.
Please Repubs. Make up your mind. Perspective.

Once again dogson doesn't have a valid contradiction
to the point I'm making so he tries to change the subject.
Posted - 2/11/2013 5:45:59 PM | show profile | flag this post
The "valid contradiction"
is right there in front of your face.
You started this "Why voter IDs ARE necessary"
Because of 19 cases in one state. NINETEEN. And the one you focused on was dealing with a an Absentee Ballot. That wouldn't make a tiny damn bit of difference in election for City council, never mind a presidential elecion.
And again; Tell me exactly how owning a photo ID card prevents someone from mailing in a an absentee ballot?? How the mailbox magically knows the sender had an ID or not??
So either answer the question, shut up, or act like a 2 yr old and get the last word in.

You're acting like a mentally retarded
2-year-old. You just CANNOT ever acknowledge that I'm right. But I am. Live with that.

o.k., class..let's review once more the symptoms of NPD..
narcissistic personality disorder..
-the belief that you are smarter than everyone else..
-that you are ALWAYS right, and everyone else is always wrong..even though you've been caught out wrong.. or lying..more times than anyone can count..
-that you must always have the last word in any debate..
that you must always win the debate..
-that you are just plain better than anyone else..always.
of course, those are also many of the symptoms of a sociopath..
i don't think cruiztwit is quite that far gone..

Another surrender from cruzo...
I posted multiple points on why he's making a mountain out of a mole-hill.
Instead of trying to counter each point, he threw a hissy fit and stomped off.
You'd think he'd at least TRY to defend his position -- try to show how a Voter ID law would have stopped the case in question.
But he didn't. He just gave up and threw a tantrum.
That's a surrender in anyone's book.
Our "casual readers" are surely getting a good laugh out of his childish rants every time he gives up.

Something VERY few Conservatives realize about Voter ID:
Dead people don't vote in person.
In-person voter ID fraud is nearly non-existent. In person voting is the ONLY thing Voter ID addresses. It does nothing for using dead peoples' identities. It does nothing to prevent mail voter ID fraud.

Now comes word
that Melowese Richardson may have voted as many as six times...using different names.
And who could possibly know how many other people engage in this practice?
This is becoming a HUGE problem...one that has been going on for a long time and in various places.
There have been incidents in Pennsylvania and New Jersey in which MORE than 100 percent of the registered Democrats in precincts have "voted." And I remember how absentee ballots for Al Franken kept "magically" appearing ever time there was another recount.

voter fraud that benefits democrats are no big deal.
but bush stole two elections !!!!!!
awwwwww. the thinkeration of the left.

Melowese Richardson. MY GOD
Someone stop this lady!! Before she steals the 2016 election right under from the Republicans!!
Truly the Typhoid Mary of the American electoral system. Ok. So now she faces charges because people that vote twice get caught eventually (they do check the rolls). So she didn't get away with anything, wasn't rying to pull a fast one (she's just dumb apparently) and it didn't effect the election anyway. And oh yea--NO ONE has been able to explain to me how a Photo ID would have prevented her from mailing in a second ballot.
BUT it's a massive fraud out there donchaknow. (And there's no way "Melowese" is a true-blue "American" name anyway. Let's look into that.)
