Okay...it's 2:25 here on the East Coast.
What's the bet?
Will all three broadcast network newscasts
lead with the pope abdicating his throne?
How soon before all the conspiracy nuts

First time it happens in 600 years. 1-billion Catholics in the world.
What would you lead with?

Well yeah a billion but
Only 600 of them go to church. It's an organization that has painted itself into a corner of irrelevance and oblivion. More so than even the American Republican Party.

If I'm not mistaken CNN did NOT lead with pope's resignation.
What's really funny is how many instant experts there are among reporters about the papacy.
They say "the church" is in a troubled time. However if they really knew history they'd know about wars fought over the papacy, two or three popes at one time, popes held in prison, poisoned and murdered-- they'd try to be more accurate.
Of course the first pope...St. Peter was crucified upside down.
Open a book before you open your mouth. (or at least a credible site on the internet)
