Role Purpose The Content Director helps develop Syfys overall digital content strategy and oversees day-to-day editorial operations and updates for our consumer facing TV sites Syfy.com and ChillerTV.com. The primary role includes developing the daily content and schedule for our main channel hub sites and all of our individual show sites. This role is also the primary liaison with the Syfy Marketing and Sales Marketing teams and helps integrate digital content across our social media platforms. This role will dual report to the Vice President, Creative Production.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and maintain the editorial schedules and coverage on our homepage, show sites, newsletters, mobile sites and the various Syfy social platforms. Ensure message consistency across all platforms - Help conceive and develop new digital content for our shows, emerging platforms and social media outlets with an emphasis on reaching a wide audience and bringing in new viewers to the network - Participate in conception and implementation of content for shows/brand initiatives in conjunction with our marketing, sales marketing and public relations teams Advocate for results oriented, digital expressions of Marketing campaigns that: 1) Drive awareness 2) Amplify brand and/or program values 3) Create opportunities for advertisers to get involved in meaningful ways - Understand and evangelize the messaging, strategy and positioning of our marketing campaigns around shows and launches Assess the feasibility and/or practicality of ideas and create solutions suited for the time and budgets - Create an open, collaborative and creative atmosphere both within the digital team and across the channel as a whole; ensure cohesion between the digital and marketing teams through on-going communication of goals, individual initiatives and project progress - Shepherd projects from conception to completion, involving the right stakeholders at the right times - Manage an editorial team of 3
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree - Minimum 5 years of editorial experience - Minimum 2 years as a manager of digital editorial projects - Minimum 2 years of experience collaborating with Marketing and/or Sales Marketing Eligibility Requirements - Interested candidate must submit a resume/CV through www.nbcunicareers.com to be considered - Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice - Must be willing to work in New York - Must be willing to submit to a background investigation - Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States - Must be 18 year of age or older - Ability to understand the feasibility of proposed ideas and solutions based on the time and resource constraints vs. objectives. - Ability to understand, explain and shepherd digital projects to and for a wide audience within the network: consumer marketing, sales marketing, scheduling, etc. - Ability to remain on the cutting edge of the latest online editorial innovations and trends, particularly when it comes to social media.
