| Job Requirements |
Minimum three-to-five years of experience in public affairs or communications, preferably with a PR agency/consultancy or in a government office. Bachelors degree in public relations, communications, journalism, political science or related area preferred. Experience on Capitol Hill a plus.
The ideal candidate should have a general knowledge and interest in how public policy is developed and the influence and roles of key players, including the interaction of the media, government, NGOs, trade groups and corporations. Candidates must be well-organized self-starters and able to juggle diverse accounts and short deadlines while maintaining attention to quality and detail. Strong writing, verbal communication and Internet/media research skills are required; a proven track record working with news media and professional experience in social media are desired.

Kellen Communications, a mid-sized, global public relations firm seeks a proactive, creative, strategic and detail-oriented Account Executive with previous agency experience with B2B, consumer, and non-profit clients to serve as a key member of its New York account team.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Cultivate relationships with journalists, pitch media and secure editorial placements in traditional and online media outlets, manage media requests for clients; Social media program development and implementation; Write press releases, bylined articles, op-eds, newsletters, brochures, web content; Serve as day-to-day client contact, develop client reports and attend client meetings; Develop, verify and maintain up-to-date media lists, client reports, and clip books; Organize press events, including virtual events; Account and client relationship management and account budget management; Support new business proposal writing and research; Attend new business presentations
