Wine Enthusiast Magazine, a leading voice in wine and the culinary lifestyle, seeks an accomplished Senior Associate Editor for its print magazine and Web site.
This position, while reporting to the Managing Editor of Digital and Print, will be responsible for writing, editing and conceptualizing both short form and feature articles. Other responsibilities will include:
-Maintain author contract file
-Maintain Front of Book budget
-Hold weekly pitch meetings
-Coordinate content and assignments with Web Editor/Producer
-Generate original content such as news/trends pieces for Web and Front of Book (FOB)
-Review all content, with emphasis on house usage and style, line editing, formatting
-Attend outside wine/spirits/restaurant events
-Tweet regarding WE online articles/events
The ideal candidate will be an extremely organized, passionate, prolific writer and editor with a love of wine, food and travel. The candidate will possess at least 5 years of experience at a major lifestyle magazine and be well versed in publishing industry standards and culture. They will also be active in the digital world, comfortable with evolving technologies and eager to communicate new and effective approaches to gaining new readers. Experience with InCopy a must. The Senior Associate Editor must be a confident, experienced journalist with a sense of current trends and culture both domestically and internationally. A knowledge of luxury lifestyle a plus.
The successful candidate will be working at our headquarters in Westchester County, Mount Kisco, NY.
