Job Requirements SFARI.org, a dynamic website dedicated to providing news and opinion on autism research, is seeking a reporter.

The reporter will identify developments in autism research that may be of interest to our audience of life scientists, and write news and blog items about those topics for SFARI.org. He or she will also attend and report from local and international conferences related to autism and to neuroscience in general.

The website is the face of the Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative, a philanthropic venture within the Simons Foundation. However, the news section functions in an editorially independent manner from the rest of the foundation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a science journalist to write about this exciting field, with new research in genetics, cognition and behavior, molecular neuroscience and ethical issues. Were looking for a writer who is enthusiastic about online journalism, and can contribute savvy ideas for adding to our solid base of readers.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in journalism, particularly in writing news for scientists. He or she will have impeccable news judgment and the highest standards for accuracy and scientific rigor. A background in neurosciences is a plus, but not required.

About Our Company The Simons Foundation is a private foundation based in New York City, incorporated in 1994. The foundation's mission is to advance the frontiers of research in the basic sciences and mathematics. Our websites are dedicated to providing information to scientists and creating a community of researchers.
