As a Systems Administrator in Infrastructure Operations and Engineering group at AOL, you will be responsible for management of +300 servers worldwide that service our +7,000 user workforce. You’ll design, implement, and support the solutions that provide services to authenticate, authorize, enforce compliance, share files, print, protect our intellectual property, manage systems and identities, and protect us from malware. You will be a key contributor to the management and optimization of our servers and overall system design. You will provide tier 3 support to the frontline tier 1 and 2 service delivery and helpdesk groups. As well as a representative of the team to other AOL business units to interpret business needs and solve business problems. We are looking for mid to upper skill levels and will place you in a position commensurate with your experience.
What do we expect from you?
•Track and own problem tickets through a ticketing system
•Influence our vendors on enhancing their products
•Troubleshoot escalation issues and provide tier 3 support
•Liaison with vendors for resolution of tier 3 issues
•Document new findings and upload information to team wiki and documentation stores
•Ensure SLA's are met for issues during work and on call hours by responding to tickets and pages
•Establish a balance between empowering the business community to take advantage of self-service capabilities and keeping services secure.
•Interact with vendors for evaluation and selection of new products and services,
•Interact with vendors and business owners to design, implement, and operate new and existing products and services
•Implement changes to the existing infrastructure to support issue resolution and changing business needs

Yes! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Yes! I have 3-6 years of relevant work experience at a medium/large enterprise organization
Yes! I have advanced experience with system administration and management of Windows XP/2003/7/2008 and Linux CentOS/RHEL
Yes! I have experience with Dell and HP hardware
Yes! I have experience with Configuration Management Systems such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and Windows Deployment Service,
Yes! I have experience with authentication software such as OpenAM/OpenSSO
Yes! I have Protocol knowledge of IP, TCP, UDP, HTTP(S), DNS, SMTP, IMAP, etc.
Yes! I have Active Directory Services experience
Yes! I have scripting skills with Powershell, Shell, or Perl
Yes! I have experience with web technologies such as Tomcat, Apache, IIS, PHP, Ruby, LAMP Stack, SOLR, MySQL, MongoDB, CouchDB, etc
Yes! I have superior oral and written communication skills to interface with customers, third party vendors, and business owners. Since I am such a great communicator, I also have the ability to lead and mentor others. I also have outstanding customer service skills!
Yes! I am available for on-call work and on-demand work schedule changes
Yes! While it is not required, I am willing to travel up to 5% of the time
