We are seeking an Account Executive to join the TechCrunch / AOL Tech Team.
AOL Tech is comprised of TechCrunch, Engadget, TUAW and Joystiq.
TechCrunch is a leading technology media property, dedicated to obsessively profiling startups, reviewing new Internet products, and breaking tech news.
Engadget is the top Consumer-Tech blog on the planet. Engadget is the official online news source of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2012 and is featured regularly on the Technorati Top 10 and the Techmeme Top 10 Leaderboard. The site combines insider tips on new gadgets, technology news and premium video content for a tech-savvy and passionate audience. In 2011 Engadget won the Webby Award and People's Voice Award for "Best Consumer Electronics Site.
ï?· Develop and grow existing regional business as well as proactively prospect and qualify new advertising accounts via phone, email or in-person.
ï?· Generating revenue through sales of digital media and event sponsorships for AOL Tech properties including TechCrunch, Engadget, Joystiq and TUAW. Also sell data-driven ad products including Behavioral Targeting and the Advertising.com display network.
ï?· Responsible for daily communication channel (both internal and external) to ensure that client objectives are clearly outlined and internal partners are on track for deliverables.
ï?· Responsible for managing direct client as well as agency relationships.
ï?· Work collaboratively with internal partners and cultivate relationships (Business Analyst, Strategy, Business Development and Programming) to develop cross-network / cross-channel media strategies that meet client objectives.
ï?· Manage, grow, and develop accounts through the entire sales cycle; from initial client contact to signed insertion order.
ï?· Experience: Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in Internet advertising sales and has demonstrated ability to hit revenue targets and exceed goals.
ï?· Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with concentration in Marketing, Economics and/or advertising preferred.
ï?· Must have strong understanding of marketing dynamics including targeting abilities and technologies, rich media, brand positioning and pricing models.
ï?· Ability to analyze campaign performance statistics and recommend optimized media solutions.
ï?· Strong customer focus – promoting customer satisfaction, resolution and loyalty.
ï?· Excellent communication, negotiation and partnering skills including: Superior phone skills, excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to present in front of customers and internal partners clearly communicating the value proposition of AOL in terms of meeting client objectives; Results oriented, accountable, strong work ethic and a strong team player.
ï?· Demonstrated ability to make compelling and motivating presentations to a target audience using visual aids and other media.
ï?· Outstanding computer skills including solid knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, and CRM systems.
ï?· Ability to adapt to a changing environment quickly and easily
