Job Requirements Working as an Aquisitions Editor, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic publishing plan for designated electrical engineering and telecommunications categories for Wiley-IEEE Press.

Within this role, you will be responsible for the effective management of the publishing program, including the acquisition, development, and profitable publication of books and reference works in print and electronic formats, in partnership with the IEEE. You will also be responsible for management of the
backlist.

Requirements
•Minimum of 3 years book acquisition experience preferably in electrical engineering / telecommunications or related discipline.
•In-depth knowledge of the markets including the strengths and weaknesses of our lists and those of our competitors.
•Proven experience in acquiring and developing projects and successfully managing a program.
•Excellent analytical skills and judgment to identify opportunities and projects with high potential for success.
•Strong negotiation skills to work with authors, agents, authorities, IEEE staff and volunteers. Strong interpersonal skills to maintain industry network. Financial management skills.
•Excellent written and oral communications skills.
•Must be highly motivated and achievement oriented.
•Ability to influence, without authority, people in other functional areas within the company (e.g. production, marketing, etc.).
•Willing and able to travel.
•College degree required, engineering or science preferred.
•Electronic publishing experience desirable.
