Job Requirements Working as an Acquisitions Editor, you will be independently responsible for the financial and editorial development and the editorial management of life sciences journal titles, working within a subject team of editorial, marketing, and production colleagues, in both
local and global Wiley-Blackwell offices.

You will research and implement ideas for developing content, revenue, and profitability of titles managed; propose and agree financial forecasts and other key financial decisions; monitor contract terms for our own titles; and maintain a broad overview of competitor activity and market developments.



Requirements
•Minimum 3 years’ editorial acquisitions experience in scholarly publishing, preferably journals
•Knowledge of academic journals publishing and specific requirements of learned societies and life sciences communities
•Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills
•Strong negotiation and presentation skills
•High level of diplomacy and effective problem-solving skills
•Excellent written and oral communication skills, highly motivated and achievement-oriented
•Must be able and willing to travel to society and journal editorial board meetings and conferences
•Ability to assess impact of income or expenditure decisions and draft journal budgets
•Understanding of financial models
•Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
•College degree required, biological sciences preferred
