Working in our Scientific, Technical, Medical and Scholarly business as an Assistant Managing Editor, Editorial Office you will be a key member of the In-House Editorial team responsible for managing the peer review process, moving manuscripts into production, and implementing new product development activities for a list of key Wiley journal titles in the Physical Sciences.
Responsibilities will include working with Wiley Editors and submitting authors to assure that manuscripts published in the journals are up to required standards in both form and quality. You will interact with Technology and Content Management colleagues to emphasize use of new technology to facilitate processes. You will ensure that all issues, articles, or other publication products are delivered to Wiley Content Management in accordance with prescribed expectations regarding quality, style, page budget, and timeliness, in an efficient manner. You will in addition work with the In-House Editorial team to develop and grow secondary revenue streams.
Requirements
•Minimum 1-year editorial or production experience •Knowledge of scientific copyediting materials preferred •Excellent verbal and written communication skills •Excellent phone manner and problem solving abilities •Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and web navigation •Strong self-management, planning, and organizational skills •Science background and general knowledge of STMS journal production workflow helpful •Knowledge of Web-based software applications or database helpful
