SpaceNews has an immediate opening for an experienced, hard-nosed reporter to cover policy, national security, missile defense and other space-related matters.
We typically require three to five years of federal government or business reporting experience, but will consider other qualifications on a case-by-case basis. An ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment is a must. Familiarity with the space or defense industry is a plus, but not a necessity.
Successful candidate must develop sources in Congress, the Pentagon, the White House and industry, and be able to distill complex subject matter into easily understood prose.
This is a diverse beat that delves into a variety of topics including finance, defense, policy, telecommunications, science and technology. Travel opportunities arise three to four times per year.
