Job Requirements Position Profile:
Bloomsbury Publishing's Academic Division is looking for a Marketing Manager to work within a team of six marketers who are responsible for promoting Bloomsbury's academic titles in the United States. The role oversees the US budget and promotional activities for academic monographs, textbooks, reference works, and trade titles. This position is responsible for marketing the theology, biblical studies, religious studies, general religion, history, and anthropology lists.

Key Responsibilities:
- Helping to draft the annual US Academic marketing plan and budget, and ensuring its implementation throughout the year.
- Planning and attending key academic conferences in relevant subject areas.
- Researching new lists, databases, and associations for direct mail, emails and general promotions.
- Developing and implementing new technology where relevant and cost-effective - emailings, newsletters, blogs, social-networking sites, etc.
- Organizing publicity for selected titles, developing and keeping media contacts up to date, and supporting book launches and events.
- Contributing to regular publishing and other team meetings.
- Presenting titles to visiting field sales reps.
- Working closely with colleagues in developing the marketing database.

Travel: 5-8 overnight trips a year, including some weekends, to designated trade shows and academic conferences.

Selection Criteria:
BA or equivalent. Three years of publishing experience in marketing at an academic or university press. Experience managing marketing campaigns and budgets and a good understanding of the full marketing mix (including digital and online). Good written and oral communication skills, plus the ability to multi-task, budget, plan, and execute campaigns.
