ASSISTANT TO THE EDITOR IN CHIEF


Town & Country seeks an energetic, highly organized multi-tasker to assist its editor in chief in all administrative matters regarding the day-to-day running of his office. Must have a passion for detail, an ability to think on one’s feet, and an interest in—and knowledge of—the lifestyle content covered by the magazine.



Responsibilites:


• Schedule all appointments; maintain and update busy calendar


• Field phone calls and take accurate messages


• File expense reports on a timely basis and in keeping with company policies and procedures


• Work with art department to prepare monthly PowerPoint presentation of each issue


• Resolve reader-service queries


• Meet and greet visitors at all levels of seniority


• Make and update travel arrangements


• Assist Managing Editor in scheduling of weekly edit and art meetings


• Other duties as assigned (research for specific projects and presentations; miscellaneous errands, etc.)

Qualifications:


• B.A. or equivalent education experience


• Strong organizational, issue-resolution, and decision-making skills


• Sound judgment and discretion (need to handle confidential material)


• Impeccable speaking ability and strong writing skills


• Thorough knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel


• Knowledge of K4 or Woodwing production system helpful

Ideally, an internship or magazine job involving office administration and some editorial work.
