We are looking for a talented, passionate producer with a love of pop culture and these attributes:
At least 3 years of hands-on relevant producing experience. Live production experience strongly preferred.
A strong creative vision that is both inspired and commercial
Leadership and managerial ability on the set
Can manage all aspects of physical production, from script (non-fiction) to delivery
Strong writing and communication skills
Understands or can quickly grasp the digital video production process.
A genuine interest in and aptitude for the type of shows PopSugar makes
"Gets" the Sugar brands and unique Sugar voice
Can work positively and collaboratively with writers and editors of the Sugar sites
Ability to contribute to and execute show concepts into high-quality productions
Can handle a high volume of work
Grace under pressure, great people skills, high integrity
As producer, you will be overseeing PopSugar's live daily entertainment show from NYC (including getting the location/set ready for shooting, organizing pre-interviews with guest experts, running rehearsals along with the Technical Director, gathering assets, prepping video packages with the editors, etc). You will work with the anchor, PopSugar writers, and producers in San Francisco and Los Angeles to help develop the day's show.
In addition to live content, you will also be asked as needed, to produce other PopSugar content from pre- to post production (including creating shot lists, booking talent and locations, and working with Post Production to implement cuts and graphics). This may include a variety of different content genres including documentaries, reality, red carpet premieres, live events, entertainment/lifestyle news reports, music videos, and commercials so relevant experience in these areas is preferred.
Sugar employs 220 passionate people based in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and London. This is a full time position with benefits. Compensation DOE. Based in New York with some travel.
