Job Requirements Quartz, the global business news site from Atlantic Media Company, seeks a social-media editor to facilitate and expand our presence on the social web.

Working as part of a New York-based editorial team, this editor will be responsible for keeping Quartz's social-media strategy fresh and effective. He or she will handle our institutional accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and other social networks; develop our strategy for producing content aimed at social audiences; and work with Quartz staff on their own use of social media.

At least 40% of Quartz's traffic comes from social media, and we keep social in mind for everything that we do. Our social-media editor will be charged with keeping us even further ahead of competitors in this regard.

Quartz aims to provide business professionals worldwide with reporting and analysis of the highest level of intelligence and creativity. It is focused on covering the most essential–and most interesting—developments to these core readers, and providing context and meaning to help efficiently process the news.

The social-media editor should have a strong news sense and be able to contribute to our news coverage—on social media and on qz.com. Experience with both social media and reporting is preferred. We view social media as fundamentally a journalistic enterprise.
