Job Requirements Core Tasks
> Implement and develop the social media strategy for Mediaplanet North America (NA) and online distribution of our publications,
> Lead in defining the policy and procedures,
> Develop educational training tools on social media for internal use on management and operational level,
> Execute all Social Media Strategies developed by the Project Managers for their publications in NA,
> Gather and distribute relevant content from publishers in a timely fashion,
> Work with multiple departments spread out over several offices in NA.
> Report directly to the General Manager of North America and work closely with the Head of NA Production and Operations.
> Work in direct contact with all the Managing Directors of the four NA offices, as well as one additional representative from each office.

General Social Media
> Build followers and fan-base on all social media platforms,
> Announce new publications and tease upcoming publications,
> Generate original, newsworthy real-time updates that adhere to the Mediaplanet “persona”,
> Spark conversations with fan-base and promote interaction with readers.

Online Distribution
> Collect data and execute analysis of online readership,
> Find the appropriate online vehicals for reaching our publications’ target audiences, and establish partnerships with these parties.

> Ensure that the Mediaplanet brand is positivly portayed and well represented online,
> Maintain company profile on websites such as LinkedIn and Glassdoor,
> Demonstrate a good understanding and excution of SEO.

Your Experience
> BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university and approximately three (3) years of experience in advertising, communications, marketing, or PR.
> Knowledge of graphic design best practices and principles for both print and web projects
> Strong technical background with advanced computer skills> A solid understanding of ethical search engine optimization techniques
> Demonstrated experience and a passion for the social technology universe
> Experience with online monitoring and measurement platforms.
> Data, analytics, and metrics oriented

Your Communication Skills
> Strong leadership capabilities and strong interpersonal skills,
> Strong communication and presentation skills,
> Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
> Ability to work independently and as a member of a team,
> Be able to develop and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders,
> Ability to work effectively under deadlines and juggle several assignments simultaneously,
> Comfortable working in an enviroenment that is sales and ROI driven,
> Ability to proactively and independently define plans and goals.

Your Technical Skills
>Experience using: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 2007 or 2010
Adobe Design Suite CS4 or CS5 (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash)
> Strong understanding of HTML and CSS,
> Knowledge of web usability best practices, website navigation design and flow, content classification, and content management methods and systems.

In North America we have four (4) offices:, Vancouver, Toronto, Chicago and New York. We are currently looking for an experiences, energetic person to join our North American team as our Social Media & Marketing Manager. This position will be based in the NA headquarters, located in New York City.
