The National Magazine Award-winning publication Psychotherapy Networker is seeking a uniquely talented individual to become the Managing Editor of our Washington, D.C.-based bimonthly magazine that’s served the worldwide community of psychotherapists for over 30 years.
Responsibilities:
• Schedule and manage calendars for print production & other projects
• Edit all print media, including bimonthly magazine, annual conference program, advertising and promotional materials, and coordinate work of writers, copyeditors, designers, and proofreaders
• Manage, review, and track circulation fulfillment and billing activities
• Supervise office operations and coordinate facilities maintenance
Requirements:
• 8-10 years relevant publishing/editorial experience
• Strong editing and writing skills
• The ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate multiple projects
• The ability to effectively manage staff and outside vendors, including Design, Marketing, and Circulation teams, as well as freelance writers
Desired Skills:
• High degree of comfort with social networking, website development, and online communications tools
• Psychology or social science background is a plus
