Job Requirements CMP.LY is looking for a Marketing Director to take over the primary responsibility for implementing all our marketing, advertising and PR efforts. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on marketer seeking to take on greater responsibility and grow within an innovative, VC-funded NYC startup. You will be joining CMP.LY at a key point in our history when we will be expanding our positioning to incorporate the many additional value propositions we have developed over the last two years.

Who you are:
You are an energetic individual who has a passion for marketing and understands the importance of telling a story and getting the details right. You are a passionate, creative and execution-focused person who works well in a small team environment, but can also run entire projects on your own. You have the marketing knowledge to plan a campaign, create a targeted story and develop relevant content. You also have the graphics & copy skills to execute key pieces on your own and an understanding of when it’s necessary to call in an outside vendor to do the job right. You're keenly interested in the future of social and digital marketing and are ready to join a tight-knit team that is developing core tools necessary for business to move to the social web.

The Role:
You will have a key voice in developing branding and marketing strategies to further engage brands, agencies and advocates – and will then be responsible for implementing those strategies. Day-to-day activities will include:
• Developing and executing a robust content marketing strategy
• Managing owned social media channels
• Developing sales/marketing collateral and support materials
• Planning and executing digital and social advertising programs.
• Enhancing and maintaining the company website
• Organizing conferences, webinars and other event participation

• Experience (minimum of 3, preferably 5+ years) in marketing, advertising or PR
• Deeply versed in social media and social media marketing
• Able to distill and translate a core positioning statement about complex concepts across the full spectrum of marketing needs, from tagline to web copy to sales collateral.
• Solid copywriting and graphics skills (along with proficiency in the requisite software, e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, MS Office, etc.)
• More likely to do than delegate, but understand when both are appropriate
• Exemplary listening, written, verbal and visual communications skills including the ability to adapt messages for, and effectively communicate with, a variety of audiences
• Open, communicative and like working in small teams
• Critical thinker who can trouble-shoot and make decisions independently
• Love of clean design and crisp copy
• Excited about working with brands and agencies in an emerging technical space of new media (knowledge of this space is preferred)
• Passion for high quality.

• Experience in startup and interest in early-stage companies
• In-depth familiarity with a wide range of social media marketing, monitoring and/or analytics platforms
• Familiarity with other aspects of digital marketing including SEM, A/B testing, analytics, etc.
• Deep understanding of other aspects of digital marketing
• HTML or other relevant technical abilities
• Expert-level copy and/or design skills
