- Understand and analyze the communications and marketing needs of Equal Justice Works and periodically assess costs and benefits of communications and marketing materials.

- Collaborate with senior management team and staff to gather information and create compelling narratives and inspire staff, students, alumni and others to create content.

- Edit and oversee print and electronic communications, graphic design, photography, video and digital production, social media programs, web site or other online presence, and board presentations.

- Create and navigate a sustainable social media program.

- Develop and use media relationships as needed and serve as a media point of contact.

- Create and maintain comprehensive work plan and calendar with metrics to assess communications, marketing and programmatic goals and collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with deadlines and organization-wide standards.

- Prepare and manage annual communications and marketing budget.

- Manage and oversee communications and marketing staff, creative team and contractors, currently two full-time staff and numerous freelancer and contractors.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of eight years' experience in the communications field with a minimum of three years in a senior leadership capacity managing a budget of $250,000+.

- Experience working with the legal community, non-profit organization, or an agency preferred.
About Our Company About Equal Justice Works:

Equal Justice Works is a recognized leader in the public interest law movement; our mission is to create a just society by mobilizing the next generation of lawyers committed to equal justice.
Partnering with law schools, law firms, corporate legal departments and nonprofit organizations, Equal Justice Works offers law students and lawyers a chance to make a difference. From advocating for law school programs that instill public service values among students, to creating summer and postgraduate public interest fellowships, to addressing the staggering educational debt that keeps lawyers from going into public service, Equal Justice Works provides opportunities for the legal community to deliver on the promise of justice for all.
Equal Justice Works Fellowships is the largest postgraduate legal fellowship program in the United States. Every year, hundreds of law students graduate with a desire to work on behalf of underserved communities and causes and apply to Equal Justice Works for the opportunity to work for a nonprofit organization that has agreed to host the applicant if awarded a fellowship. In 20 years, more than 1,000 lawyers have served as Fellows and many are now in key leadership positions in legal aid, public defender and civil rights organizations and in all levels of government.
