Job Requirements Transamerica is seeking a qualified candidate for the Senior Content Editor position in the Digital Media Group. This position is responsible for setting the publication standards for the enterprise digital platforms (web, social media, intranet, etc.) manages the content function, and is responsible for the overall development of enterprise content. The senior editor works closely with business unit marketing teams on the creation of enterprise content to be shared across platforms. This person is also responsible for developing and maintaining the enterprise publication budget.

The Senior Editor works in collaboration with channel editors, meeting regularly to ensure content calendars are in line with corporate and division expectations and for ensuring that copy is correct and aligned with brand voice and tone (per channel). The senior editor is charged with strategic and operational planning, and ensuring all channels are achieving the overarching brand strategy. The senior editor works openly with team to establish goals and objectives but has clear decision making authority on content selected for publication.

• Demonstrated ability and track record of managing cross channel content through an integrated team and process.
• Experience providing management and leadership to web & digital media staff and working collaboratively with staff, management, and IT support.
• Ability to partner with internal and external content managers, editors, designers, developers, and other staff to ensure sites meet client needs, align with the brand strategy platform, and meet web standards.
• Proven track record of creating unique cross channel content experiences.
• Experience marketing and presenting web/digital strategies to diverse audiences, managing multiple projects, and maintaining schedules and budgets.
• Excellent web/digital media project management and estimating experience.
• Fluent in development optimization techniques to deliver the best user experiences in the most technically efficient manner.
• Knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, Access, mySQL, javascript.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe suite: Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
• Familiarity with graceful degradation, unobtrusive javascript, W3C Web Standards, WAI, ADA & Sections 508 and 504 compliance

• Ensures the organization’s websites and digital platforms provide up-to-date and comprehensive product/service information that is easily available to existing and potential customers.
• Establishes and maintains an information architecture that is well organized, user-friendly, and presents a consistent corporate look and feel.

• Coordinates the development, integration, format design and release of content from writers and designers by developing a virtual content development team across divisions.
• Analyzes the use of website content and design and takes steps as necessary to improve information content architecture and design.
• Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
• Makes decisions that are guided by policies, procedures and business plan and receives guidance from senior manager.
• Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and other stakeholders.
• Help set up and manage implementation of SDL, the new Content Management System

1. Minimum 5 years with 2 years management experience of web team or content development projects.
2. BA or MFA journalism, advertising/marketing, digital media, interaction design, or related degree.
3. 5+ years of content strategy and creation (preferably within the financial services industry or PR agencies).
4. Experience with visual communications and associated tools of trade (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver/HTML,etc.) is highly desired.
5. Working knowledge of HTML email and website content management systems (ECS, Word Press, Constant Contact, Peer360,etc.) a plus.
6. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
