Job Requirements Transamerica is seeking a qualified candidate for the Manager, Social Media in the Digital Media group. The Manager, Social Media is responsible for planning and implementing marketing strategies and campaigns through social media. The successful candidate will have experience building brand identification through penetration of online social media. This position will solicit, create, and post content that attracts attention and engages readers who share it with their social networks.

The Manager, Social Media works closely with Transamerica divisional marketing teams to create a publishing model dedicated to developing the voice of the brand and lead the development of a social media strategy and a unified social media platform. The successful candidate will be innovative and a thought leader capable of creating a social media presence for a progressive company looking to expand its relationship with current and prospective customers.

JOB RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience leading the adoption of relevant social media techniques and content and actionable engagement strategies that have resulted in successful business models.
• Demonstrated ability to manage presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, and Linked-in and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications as needed.
• Ability to be an advocate of the Company in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues, establishing best practices and answering questions where appropriate.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience managing social media campaigns and day-to-day activities including online advocacy, community-outreach efforts, SEO/SEM, promotions, etc.
• Understanding of the technical side of website design, user experience design, development and maintenance.
• Ability to develop a network of fans and advocates with employees, intermediaries, consumers and customers.


DUTIES:
• Implements the company’s social media strategy, developing brand awareness, generating in-bound engagement and encouraging adoption of the company’s products and services.
• Manages and builds an active brand ambassador network and establishes communities in conjunction with the business units to spread the word about the company and its key value propositions across the enterprise.
• Helps build web care and enterprise digital response team and process across divisions to respond to customer inquiries.
• Works with the digital marketing teams to ensure social media tools and reporting are current.
• Provides regular feedback insights gained from social media monitoring into the marketing and editorial teams, to help evolve strategies in a timely fashion.
• Monitors trends in social media tools, trends and applications.
• Reporting and managing campaigns including budget.
• Develops affiliated programs designed to increase exposure to and business from the target audience.
• Facilitates integration of IT, online development, and vendor design.
• Liaises with sponsorship partners and alliances for special event online marketing and social media marketing campaigns and ensuring brand standards are met.
• Identifies threats and opportunities in user generated content surrounding the company’s brand, report to the appropriate parties.
• Serves as a liaison between projects (as well as internal groups) and external agencies to ensure projects are handled in a timely manner and completed to the satisfaction of the organization.
• Is the eyes and ears of the company’s brand in the rapidly evolving social media environment.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related field.
2. Minimum 5 years industry experience.
3. Proven success with web and mobile based campaigns preferably B2B/B2C service or product.
4. Experience in sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
