Job Requirements We're looking for a Website Manager to join a talented Marketing & Communications team. As the Website Manager, you will manage ITHAKA’s content-managed websites and microsites—to ensure that the sites remain fresh and timely, meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders, and function properly. Strong candidates must understand the intersection of content and technology, be well organized, and have an attention to detail that verges on obsessive.

The Website Manager is a part of a growing Marketing and Communications team with members located in Ann Arbor, MI and New York City. This position is based in New York City and does not require travel.

What we do.
ITHAKA Marketing & Communications is responsible for creating meaningful experiences for users of ITHAKA services and growing that user base through innovative campaigns, poignant cross-channel communications, and new products and offerings. The team comprises individuals who are passionate about marketing, research, design, and technology, and who believe that collaboration, communication, and a healthy dose of fun are the tenets of success.

What you’ll do.
Primarily, you will manage the content and enhancements to functionality for ITHAKA’s marketing websites: ithaka.org, about.jstor.org, portico.org, sr.ithaka.org, and books.jstor.org. Collaboration with internal stakeholders is essential, since these sites cut across ITHAKA services and departments. As such, you will track bug and enhancement requests, collaborate with colleagues across departments to keep content fresh, update content through the content management system, work with a front end development team to update functionality on the sites, and manage a launch calendar. Furthermore, you will be expected to monitor and report on-site traffic. The Creative Director will provide branding guidelines and will supervise your activities.

Your qualifications.
? You have a Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or a related field.
? You have 3 to 5 years experience managing content and production for high traffic websites.
? You have knowledge of Google Analytics.
? You are knowledgeable in website optimization and SEO.
? You have knowledge of HTML/CSS and have direct experience working in Drupal. (Experience with WordPress is also desired, but not required.)
? You have basic skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

Your skills.
? You have the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
? You possess strong interpersonal and writing skills.
? You have the ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team.
? You support visual designers and developers in their potential task of upgrading the web site.
? You have great attention to detail and organizational skills.
? You understand online marketing and the needs for coordination among communication channels.
? You thrive in demanding environments, managing multiple projects and shifting priorities.
? You collaborate well with teams, but possess the initiative and professionalism to work independently.
? You welcome honest, candid feedback.
? You recognize that true communication is equal parts listening and talking.
