Job Requirements The Division of External Relations is currently seeking a Social Media Community Manager to join its team of professionals. The successful incumbent will be responsible for working closely with the Marketing Director in identifying opportunities and strategies for the university in the social media space. Ensuring the best practices in using social media to accomplish FIU's communication goals. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

•Plans and executes social media initiatives at FIU to increase visibility, membership and traffic and manage social media programs. Experiments with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities.

•Manages the FIU's presence in social media and the voice of organization in the social media space.

•Leads the organization toward emerging social media sites & applications to continue expanding reach and engagement with our supporters. Establishes effective benchmarks for measuring impact of social media programs.

•Serves as the leader within the organization in partnering with other internal groups to leverage social opportunities. Monitors trends in social media tools, trends and applications and appropriately apply that knowledge to increasing the use of social media at FIU.

•Measures the impact of social media on the overall marketing efforts. Evaluates results and recommend changes to strategies, coordinating efforts and gathering information as needed from staff across the organization.

•Works closely with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.

Desired/Required Qualifications:

•Marketing background with at least 2-3 years social media marketing experience. College degree in Marketing, Communications or related field preferred. 3-5 years of experience managing a marketing channel or product line.

Salary: $35,000-$40,000, commensurate with experience.
