Responsibilities

Reporting to the news editor, this person is primarily tasked with posting and optimizing online articles to the site as well as compiling and sending out email newsletters. The position will also do some light copy editing and occasionally write brief articles for the site.


Duties include:
• Working with the news editor, managing editor and staff writers to process articles, optimize them for search and post them on the site.
• Compile and send out daily email newsletters
• Curate and optimize using performance metrics various features and news feeds on the site.

Requirements
The position requires at least 2 years editorial experience working primarily in the digital space.

It also requires:
• A strong understanding of how content management systems work and the ability to quickly and efficiently post articles online.
• A solid knowledge of SEO and the ability to quickly optimize breaking news features for maximum search impact.
• Excellent copy editing skills.
• Solid writing skills
• An understanding and familiarity with online performance metrics.
• B.A. in journalism or related field.
• Knowledge of healthcare a definite plus.
