Job Requirements Boston Globe Media is seeking an Account Executive for Design New England (DNE), the premier home and garden magazine in New England. Based in Boston, the Account Executive will sell advertising in Design New England to new accounts, along with assisting in sales efforts to existing accounts.
Key accountabilities include achieving stated sales goals including revenue, average rate and market share objectives, along with utilizing strategic selling techniques, executing sales calls to senior executives, bringing closure to long sales cycle clients and managing accounts to secure the highest level of customer service.

Responsibilities:
Under direction of publisher/sales director of Design New England magazine, sell advertising in DNE, primarily to new accounts as well as servicing an existing book of business.
Use creative and strategic selling techniques, execute sales calls to closure and manage accounts.
Work closely with clients in developing ad campaigns and ensuring timely submission of advertising material.

Qualifications:

2-3 years of successful sales experience, preferably in a print advertising environment
A successful track record of local advertising revenue growth through both new business development and ongoing client contact
Unafraid to make cold calls and to turn “no” to “yes”
Ability to find new business, manage time., and make deadlines
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to address audiences at many levels
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
