ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS
NYU’s prestigious Leonard N. Stern School of Business has a challenging opportunity for an Associate Director of Communications on the Development and Alumni Relations team. The selected candidate will work to create, maintain, and nurture the lines of communication between the school and its alumni and donors. S/he will work closely with the Director of Communications to create and execute a robust portfolio of marketing and communications pieces. S/he will provide strategic input on the direction of all projects, determine messaging, content, and design; and will work with colleagues at all levels to drive consensus. Specific responsibilities include: managing the design, print and mailing of communications materials; data and mail list requests and management; e- and online promotions, including social media; departmental web content; securing estimates and budgeting; and writing, proofing, and editing informational and promotional text across a variety of vehicles.
Candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree along with 4 years' relevant professional writing and editing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. We are looking for someone with strong strategic and project management skills, strong people management skills, strong writing skills and experience in promotional writing. Excellent editing, public speaking, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills are a must. Experience managing and training administrative staff and preparing and managing budgets is required. Familiarity with web development software or and/or experience maintaining a web site is preferred.
